I don't care about the steroid thing, that's been played out.


What I'm worried about is he seems brittle/prone to injury, and obviously makes bad decisions----the bad decision thing can be worked on, the injury bug I'm not so confident about.

The only positive there is that he finally got surgery on his lingering issues. So instead of him being constantly brittle he may now be strong, but we will see. People do tend to get injured more when cycling off, so if he was a rampant steroid user like some people on here think then those injuries will just magnify.

I see the opposite. Surgery can fix bones and tendons.

However, it can’t fix poor judgment.

But I understand the injury thing, it can keep him out entire seasons - makes you wonder if he will ever play a full season healthy, which he never has since the minors.

The only Tatis cards I have are the same base RC’s that anyone who opened 2019 was all have in abundance.

Everyone’s opinions differ but I feel with Bonds, the steroids let him became super human and he used them to shatter records in an absurd fashion…at the age of 37. Same with Clemens, Schilling and a lot of others who seemed to find the fountain of youth when most athletes (and non-athletes) bodies are breaking down.
From a humanistic standpoint, Bonds and Clemens personalities are generally standoffish and basically A-holes.

Tatis is young and plays with a lot of joy and is generally like able especially for young fans. I think that goes a long way. Tatis has a chance to reclaim his career and baseball could really use an authentic personality like his. But if he goes nuts, hits 70 HR’s and doesn’t even try to hide it (like the entire steroid era) then fans will turn on him.

Did Bonds, Clemens or any of those guys ever face in season consequences? Not post career stuff but missing games, etc.?

cheating is so rampant in the sport that pitchers are checked on an inning-by-inning basis... and folks here want to act like everyone is clean until proven otherwise

My Tatis holdings: 1 Optic RR holo PSA 10 that I bought for $30.

Y'all are simply missing out by being worried more about a witch hunt than enjoying actual talent. It's been said ad nauseum before, but steroids don't help you hit an MLB fastball or breaking ball. They do help one's body hold up for 162 games though, and personally I'd love it if we saw much less injuries. If they legalized it and then checked levels to make sure nobody was going overboard, it would probably be the best of both worlds.

But we can watch WWE if we want to see athletes perform with steroids. Baseball’s sacred records could be tarnished by PEDs. And you know baseball historians take their records seriously.
