Submarine Wall Plaque and this one was metal instead of the wooden ones you see sailors/officers have today.

Anybody finding thrift stores more difficult to find items in the past month?

Prices, holy cow. I frequent savers here in NH and man, they have half the staff because of the unemployment benefits you get for not working so there inventory in the electronics and hardware section is seriously slacking. Same with toys.

My son found a pink yeti tumbler, they wanted $39.99, USED! Had one or two little dings, it was in great shape, but definitely could tell it was used, but seriously, $39.99, man.

Well found a set of bowflex 552 dumbbells for $25 they need cleaned up but too bad they weigh 50 lbs each. Might get $250 easily on Facebook market place. I couldn’t lift them lol

Went outside my comfort zone today. Picked up 11 Tiger Electronics Lazer Tag guns with headsets for $30 and a Build-A-Bear with a bunch of spare clothes and tent for $20. Looks likes there could be some money to be made. We will see

I have not been in a thrift store in over a year. Far better items at Estate sales and yard sales.

I also prefer yard sales but unfortunately that season is quickly coming to an end in my area. Estate sales are also few and far between here so I rely a lot on local auctions.

Yard sales are my favorite but almost over. I will probably start hitting thrift stores once a week on Saturdays as my mom is off Saturdays. You can still find stuff just not as good as garage sales. Found a lot of Halloween stuff at thrift stores yesterday. Here are those weights I found, before and after.

After I spent an hour cleaning them

I prefer yard sales too but the pickings have been ultra slim!

There have been so many donations at my goodwills, that they have actually been cutting them off. Cars lineup early every morning to donate, and when they reach their fill they cut them off and put up a sign saying No donations

Same here. Nearly every thrift store is that way right now. I have to drive by 3 on a daily basis and there is more stuff than I have ever seen outside getting rained on and such. They are posting on FB and such to stop leaving donations.

I think it just depends what state you live in. The three I go to are so bad right now. Shelves are empty! Been like that for 2 months now.

Went to GW and prices are up from year past but still lots of stuff worth picking. Nerf guns are a solid sale of FB and usually are priced at around 3-5$ also I got a JL audio 700w car amp for 19$ that sells for a few hundred, How do you guys list electronics that can't be tested? I stated on the listing that it is sold AS IS

As Is for parts only is how I do it, but even then they can claim it is not as described and force a return until last year as is for parts only as the item condition was non-returnable.

just sold it for $230 and told the buyer all about the item and that I haven't tested so let's see..... I hate this part!

Did a quick check at a local Goodwill for some games and by chance searched a DVD set. Season 1 of Here Come the Brides - to my surprise has comps of $125 or so on eBay!

So not sure of return on value as it obviously isn't the original, but for those interested, Hasbro is re-making HeroQuest. They crowd funded it and were only going to reproduce the game if they were able to reach their million dollar goal.

Needless to say they surpassed the million dollar goal and there's still 44 days left of funding. It's 100% getting made and if you get in early, you get special pieces only offered during the early stages of crowd funding.

With shipping, taxes and buying into the highest tier, I was all in for $192.

Here's the link if interested. You can buy in quantity if you'd like as well. Once again, not sure on return value, so buy what you are comfortable with or if you're just looking to own a piece of your childhood.

Went to an estate sale today turns out the man was my dad's boss in the 1960s. Picked up several nice caps and some Piggly Wiggly store items and such from the 1960s and 70s that once I get sorted out should do nicely.

Also found a copy of my mom's High School yearbook from her senior year. She lost hers in 1998 when my parents house burned. Turns out this one is very special to her. The oldest son of this family went to school with her graduating same year she did. They were very good friends throughout school. Anyway Lee committed suicide shortly after they graduated High School. So that yearbook is extra special to her.

Was telling my mom the other day about how I have sold over 100 items with no returns. And then bam 2 returns in 2 days. One is a clear case of I played the video game for 2 weeks and now I’m tired of it so I want to return it. The other is a new buyer claiming that the item doesn’t work even though I tested it and it worked. Probably didn’t want the item or it wasn’t as fun as they thought

I have had many items I have tested when I list them but when I sell them I usually test one last time or when I get an offer before I accept and it no longer works. With games I have found that I can put a game in one machine and it not play but works fine in others. Thats the joy of selling electronic items.
