Target in Socal. Lots of Optic BK, maybe 40+ Prizm Cello Hangers, UD metal, tons of Pokemon. I think the restock was last night even.

So much has changed since 2019.. No lines, more expensive, hope the deals come quicker with the over printing on retail!!

Best bet for me nowadays is to Hit Barnes and Noble to use the 10% discount for members.

Crazy now that collectors can just wait and be picky and price shop not as much FOMO for sure.

There were no lines in 2019 pal. I was still able to find Prizm and Optic retail in early 2020. The lines at Walmart or Target started in mid-2020. If prices were the same as early 2020 then retail would still sell well.

Best Buy online not selling out at current discount prices demonstrates otherwise.

Warms my heart to see Fanatics inherit this dumpster fire. Good to see the retail market reverting back to circa 2018 where almost every product had to be discounted to sell.

As long as Fanatics keeps pumping out three dozen parallels in every set, base cards and retail are dead.

Thank you. Yeah, not missing anything with these. I don’t guess we are seeing Select megas pop up today?

people are rumor-mongering about it.. but i haven't yet seen it even show up as an 'out of stock' item.. which is usually the first step before 'going live'.. but I suppose Target could be fudging around with stuff..

Downfall with all this massive print runs is the casual opener or kids will get no value from these products especially with the higher price. It's one thing of opening a $5 pack or $10 hanger and getting 80% of value back. Now its hard to justify opening for fun.

Still available! Crazy considering in 2021, everything was still being botted online and people were camping out overnight at Target for a cello pack and a blaster box for their Friday morning releases.

Should have kept blasters at $19.99 for the paper cards and done an increase to $24.99 for opti-chrome. $29.99 each is excessive, Panini got greedy too and managed to deter both flippers and collectors at the same time.

I feel like the higher msrp and print run wouldn't be as big of issues if the rookies had more hype.

I remember pre pandemic looking for Prizm for Luka and Zion (Zion technically was still December of 2019) and being really happy if I found some.

Are there any rookies besides maybe Julio Rodriguez that people are chasing in NBA, MLB, or NFL? (Case in point, I can't find any recently released 2021 Football products like Select, which has rookies that were desirable, at least until the last few weeks when every team stopped scoring)

I should qualify my post by saying I am a little out of touch with recent retail, but judging by plenty of threads that have been started recently on blowout, my comment is no less worthy of being made, yikes people.

Maybe no lines for you, end of 2019, things were starting to disappear here in socal. and Yes even Early 2020 lines were forming. So YMMV PAL.

For correlation: Hobby Prices now are less than Hobby last year and people are still not buying it.

Retail this year rookie and card selection are bad or the release timing for RCS (ex JROD), if it was the 2020 hype with Herbert? Burrow, and even Bk and BB (Bichette/Robert) rookies were much sought after, perfect storm, compared to 2022 selection.

So pricing and card selection still matters for retail to sell. With Topps, Fanatics, and Panini trying to Milk the consumer in 2022. This is what they get, and fortunately we get to dictate the consumption. Hopefully more Blowout deals for Christmas.

Stopped by my local Target today in South Central PA. Was surprised how much was sitting there. It had to be at least 40 Optic basketball blasters and even more Prizm Megas. I'm not sold on any of this year's rookies so I passed at current prices.

Maybe I just randomly got there after a restock. I thought this was maybe the new norm. I used to go there every day during lunch, now I haven't been there for a few months.

Too bad they weren't 2018 product, that'd be nice. Those Megas would be $750 a pop
