Most of the mystery tins have that but some have 21 Topps UK or 2018 Topps Jumbo packs. I’ve found both.

I live in a city where, until very recently, shelves would regularly get cleared of most product a few days from the stock. Now, stuff like Prizm, Select, and Optic are pretty available. I wonder how much that has to do with price sensitivity. If the prices went back to what they were, would demand for retail still be high? I mean, $60 for a mega box is patently absurd.

As sad as it is, despite those issues, if the prices were at their previous levels, I’d personally be buying a lot more. Just impossible to justify right now. I feel like a total sucker when I do.

do you look at your grocery bill or gas prices vs 2 years ago - everything has gone up significantly in price, why should cards be any different?

Cards have gone down over the past two years. Gas is down, too.

Gas and groceries are a necessity. Cards are not. Fanatics can either adjust pricing downward or live with the consequences.

Yep and that's why they are sitting on the shelves unlike 2 yrs ago. People have had to adjust their spending when gas/food/rent goes up 10-20%. Most Americans aren't getting big enough raises to keep up with inflation and there are no more stimmy checks and generous unemployment coming in for the Timmy's, Kimmy's, and Poindexters that were propping up an inflated hobby market.
Price coming back to earth within the next 12 months. Love to see it. |

The only lesson in the hobby world you can draw from gasoline is that once consumers get used to higher prices, it doesn't matter if supply and demand loosens up. You've show what you're willing to pay, so no wonder if takes a long time for prices to return to normal, if ever.

Maybe it's because you can't buy Select blasters for retail and flip them in the parking lot for 2-3x anymore.
Shoutout to Fanatics for getting into the sportscards business at the exact top of the market. |

They also bought THE market. I think some folks underestimate the value in possessing exclusive rights to NBA, NFL, MLB, Star Wars, GPK, Soccer, and everything else that will ultimately be included past 2026 (if not sooner). People will be falling over themselves the first time Topps Chrome basketball blasters show up at Target. They can also adjust the retail prices back down if that moves more volume. This is clearly a long term play. A play they may not have made if the market was dead to begin with. Bottom line, they'll be okay. Don't believe anyone who says they'll need to print a zillion cards and kill the market just to break even. It's been said enough here that I start to wonder if people even realize what they are saying. If they kill the market with overproduction, they kill their profits. It will never happen.
