I'm veeeeery glad I acquired a heavy hitting and young lineup at the expense of some pitching. My rotation looked formidable at season's start with Sonny, Archer, Darvish, Zimmerman, Odorizzi etc... if I'd just stuck with them, I'd be in a really bad place.

Discerning FA starter pickups and converting jinxed pitchers to rockin' hitters = key. And elite CLs don't hurt.

Several of my pitchers have delivered and remain capable of delivering 30+ on any given day...

I'll make sure to note how many points my closer boys put up when we go mano a mano. Wouldn't be surprised if they provide the margin of victory, as you have a nice team otherwise.

It's all about the zero-sum war over points. CL slots are 100x harder to fill/get a comparative advantage out of than OF slots. And yes, harder to maintain, but oh so worth it.

I've got Salvador, Arenado, Seager, Odor, JD Martinez, Burns, Sonny, Archer, Zimmerman, Odorizzi, Corbin... Reed, Fulmer, Manaea Barreto...

Obviously closers are just a small, though vital part of my squad. Bow down...

Besides, CLs don't make or break any team... they sure have helped me to the exact same record as ya. More importantly for me, 2 more wins at the Break than Sam's team had all last year.

1) HIGHROLLER -- so butthurt over closer arguments that he left our thread for months. Tried to be nicer to him ever since, then he drags it right back up (and could get butthurt again, but who cares any more)

2) Homerun -- was frontrunner for a while but has toned things down a notch. Still can get extremely butt-hurt, but whatevs, we love ya.
