Can't believe they cancelled Castle Rock on Hulu. Such a great 2 season series.

I don’t watch many movies because most are awful. I thought both of these were absolutely fantastic.

It’s not often where I see someone’s work and then begin to exclusively follow the Director because he never makes a dud. Ari is that dude now. Now that I’m “in the know” I fully expect to be let down by “Beau is afraid”.

The best movies I’ve seen in years have been horror films. Who would have thought?
Aster's a major talent. Check his short films here for some interesting early work:

Unfortunately, the most disturbing one, "The Strange Thing About the Johnsons", a taste of the psychological (and physical) horror to come in his feature films, isn't available there anymore, for whatever reason.

I watched “Beau” earlier and had to look up to understand the ending. That 6 minutes was extremely unnerving.

Ari is 34. That’s insane to think about. When all is said and done his catalog of films may be up there aside Wes Craven, John Carpenter, George A Romero, and the like.

Guy just knocked his first to features out of the park. The early run reminds me of how I felt when I first saw Christopher Nolan and just wanted to consume anything Nolan. Blows my mind I hadn’t even heard of these films or Ari until 2 weeks ago.

So Pinocchio is now a horror movie?

Disney going too far with these live-action remakes.

Interesting.

I don't know that I like the new Chris Rock Fargo / Drama actor quite yet but this is something I'll watch simply because I have too much time invested in the series not to.

I read about this one after watching "Hereditary". I'm certain I wouldn't be able to stomach it.

I liked his character, but was just waiting for him to come out with a joke after yelling at someone.

Anyway, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It will most likely be an FX or TNT rotational movie once it is done making the rounds on the premium channels.
I absolutely love Underwater. So so underrated. Is it an underwater version of Alien? Sure. But IMO, very well executed. Also, the blu ray version does so much better with handling the dark and murky setting than streaming or rip.

Just read about it on wiki, yikes that’s a difficult subject.

Bought, and watched, "Blood Vessel" on Prime. WW2 vampire movie set on a battle ship. Very creepy atmosphere made up for the so-so story.

Have watched “What Keeps You Alive” and “Temple” recently on Netflix.

Both are garbage and a waste of time. Would not recommend to anybody.

And I’m actually a fan of so cheesy they’re funny horror flicks...those two were just bad.

We just watched two movies mentioned here recently, "Underwater" and "Crawl" earlier this week. Both were solid, although a little short, runtime-wise.

Made the mistake of renting Freaky for $20 with Vince Vaughn. Terrible, terrible movie. I was hoping it would be a cheesy horror flick which I absolutely love but there's nothing worse than a horror movie that's really bad but tries to take itself seriously which ruins it. If you have Vince Vaughn as your killer (and yes I know he starred in the remake of Psycho) go all out with the cheesiness.

Compared to "Happy Death Day 2 U", where you rate it? Assuming you saw that movie.

Watched "Black Christmas" on HBO this past weekend. I see why it had a 3.3/10 score on IMDB.

I actually enjoyed Happy Death Day, first was better than the second, but thought it was overall enjoyable. This had very little killing and just overall, I found all the characters, even Vince Vaughn, rather annoying. I'd give Happy Death Day a 6, while this was no better than a 3.

OK, I also enjoyed HDD, so that gives me something to think about.

Here it is for the bold, although you'd have to sign in to youtube to see it.

It's rough subject matter, but some serious food for thought, and very well made and acted.
And remember, it is only a movie.
