In a forum dedicated to a hobby based largely on nostalgia and often requiring substantial disposable income, it's not surprising that the demographics skew towards conservatism. It would be nice to have a greater balance and diversity of views, but at least the worst offending trolls have been run out of the thread by the mods. Probably the saddest fact about our current situation is that our overabundance of news and social media means that either side can cherry pick the absolute craziest examples of "the other" and create a veritable menagerie of the absurd filled with genuine examples. Again, given the demographic skew here, that means a lot of screenshots of virtue signaling bands and starving vegan anarchists. (Though a few, like TheHeel, hold down their side's fort pretty well)

I hope we all remember that these absurdities almost never come up when we're interacting at our LCS or at card shows. Let's try to forget our human faces.

Had a background in framing, so that helped. I'm actively learning how to invest in stocks at the moment. This stuff isn't some big secret anymore. You can get so much information for free these days.

To those who say systemic this or that, my only question is: Have you tried hard work?

Yeah, no one ever talks about the system that has created the wealthiest lower class in the history of the world that has refrigeration, cellphones, air conditioning, big screen TVs and an obesity epidemic. (And I understand that there are some Americans outside of this group that are really suffering and do not have the basic necessities.)

On a separate note, we donated some things today and my wife said in the one location they are getting around two truck loads of donations every single day. Overall, Americans are very generous and feel good helping other people.

Good man. Last night I donated a few bucks to the charity chosen by David Dorn's family... goes to the families of officers/firefighters who have lost their lives. I'm generally not a very charitable person, but every now and then I try to pretend I'm a nice guy.
