I would definitely add the "Paramedic" Duty Officers to the corrupt spending list in our county. As I said, none of them do real paramedic duties at the scene. They are their for the families. I'd much rather them hire Josie to do that at a comfortable, but not EMT/Paramedic Officer rate.

The paramedics and EMT’S get paid pretty little in Mississippi but so do most jobs here.

Well I am at the mechanics right now as my brakes went out while driving my son to work. I will be here for the rest of the afternoon most likely. At least the tire depot is right across from where my son works. I told my wife it would be awhile and she asked if I could drive home and bring it back in the morning. What part of I have no brakes did she not understand, same with the mechanic yea I will drive home and back in the morning hoping it stops.

For the first time in a long time I was so tempted to have a cigarette out of frustration especially having to walk past the tobacco shop. For those who have quit would having one make me start up again.

Hearing the price for one tire get quoted to someone for 173 dollars is crazy. I remember when I lived in Florida in 1984 for my 1974 maverick I could get a retread for 25 dollars. What’s also crazy is in my mind it doesn’t feel like almost 40 years ago.

Well the price of the brake job costs more than what my first car cost me and by a lot first automobile 700 dollars brake job 1,250 dollars but I think it’s the first brake work ever done on this truck so for 118,000 miles I guess it’s not bad.

Hopefully they come with a good warranty.

What did they do for that price?

They do. They even get bullet proof vests. You even get a nice SUV with your own lights and sirens.

What makes them even more of a waste is that they are the slowest to respond I've ever seen. They are usually last out of the station and last to arrive on scene. I guess it doesn't make that much of a difference though when you're really not doing a paramedic job.

There have been times in the almost 5 years since I have quit that I felt the urge but never quite as strong as today with the tobacco shop right there. If I didn’t smoke today the odds are pretty good I will never have one again.

I’ve never smoked.

But individuals and patients I’ve worked with over the last decade would say once they have one, it’s right back.

Finding an occasional smoker is rare, that’s because they are designed for heavy addiction.

Good will power there sir. You knew the crap you would have received here (and at home) if you had fessed up to having one.

Thanks I always tell my wife when I almost have one so she can reinforce that I better not.

This is true I only had one friend who only had a few cigarettes when we went to the bar but never smoked outside the bar. I asked him how he could do it and his answer was he controlled the cigarette the cigarette didn’t control him. Wish I could have that same mentality but you guys are right if I had one it would be right back into the addiction.

The fact that you recognize this tells me you have a good handle on it.

Took a COVID test this morning. One of my friends tested positive. So far, negative. 5 minutes left.

Living in farm country means we get a mouse every fall when they rush in from the fields. We have said mouse currently. I wish we didn't because now I will have to sadly evict him/her.
