Default What early fleer case is this?

I've got a what I believe to be an early 90's fleer case but can't figure out what year it's from. It's definitely basketball and if I lift up the edge a bit it's all red. Which leads me to believe it's from 1991? But someone stamped the case "6-26-87". Now I highly doubt it's from 87 but idk why someone did that. I've done some research on the numbers shown in the pic and can't find anything. Any help is appreciated.

If it's red - i'd bet 91 as well.

Thank you for your reply. What type of case could it be? It's an 8 box case. From what I've found the cello cases are 41199-00504. The numbers on the one I have I've never seen before. Maybe jumbo?

Can't find a picture of the outside of the box, but it looks like 1991 Fleer Jumbo had 8 boxes per case

This is driving me nuts. I am pretty sure the 8 box cases are always jumbo. However, this is not the series 1 jumbo, as you have stated. So the only thing I can think of would be the update series jumbo that look like this:

But that's if it is in fact 1991. let me know if you find out as I'm interested.

My educated guess is that its a Series II 1991-92 fleer Hobby box. It for sure is a jumbo hobby box but dont think its all series because those are 41199-550. Meanwhile the Series II of the Wax boxes (20 per case) is 591, so something tells me -595 would be a logical progression should they have made series II only hobby jumbo boxes...

Thank you for all the responses! Now that I think of it it is probably series 2 1991 fleer like stated above. Do these still have any value or is it still junk?

No way man. There is like 5 jordans in this set including the elusive #29 and this update (series II) also has about 1/3 of each pack dedicated to series I from what Ive read before. So its like a combo pack along with the chance for a signed Dominique Wilkins card that has sold for $100 or so before I think? 2,000 were made back then so probably slim chance. In either case these are sold for $50-75 a box currently so a sealed cased is probably somewhere from $500-1000 I would imagine. List it and see since its the only one of its kind on ebay now or ever since Jordans skyrocket.

1989 boxes are red also.

I don't know if they had an 8-box case, but I'd want to open it just to be sure.

Do your best to keep it sealed but I concur it's 1991 also.

I didn't. Did some more searching and couldn't find an identical case. The 8 box display cases from 1991 that I've seen have a totally different number on the side. Like some ppl have said its possibly a series 2 case. Not sure what i should do because id like to throw it on ebay.

Hmm. You might just want to do that. These things are already plummeting, lol. The 3 week spike has ended.
