Default Finally found the right storage system

I've been putting all my favorite cards in magnetics in the last few years or so...and after spending so much on magnetics I decided I wanted something nicer than cardboard boxes to store the magnetics.

I've been searching a long time now for a good way to store my magnetics. I finally found them! The cool thing is that the foam in these things comes in little blocks so you can customize. I designed it so a few cards could be displayed along with the rows of magnetics. I'm very happy with the results.

Wow, I knew you had awesome Bulls cards, but now I hate you.

That Butler is beautiful.

I'm curious to where you buy these at.

Can you post up the link?

I think I've seen some people use these but I don't know if this is the exact model:

I have not tried to carry them on their side yet. I am posting link below.

Sure.
These things are a steal. I bought them at my local Harbor Freight Tools. They are made by VOYAGER...$24.99 and $29.99!
This silver aluminum one comes with dividers but no foam.
18 in. x 6 in. x 13 in. Silver Aluminum Case
This black aluminum one comes with dividers and foam. There was enough foam in this one that I was able to use it in the silver one too!

You bought these at harbor fright and they look that nice hahaha

I guess I'll be making a trip there today.

How is the quality? Can they stand up to some abuse?

I've got a Harbor Freight about 10 minutes from my house, guess I will have to go check these out.

You should do a trial run by carrying them around the house to see if they stay in place, and let us know your findings. Haha.

In your trial run, you should also handcuff the case to your wrist just like in the movies...you know, just in case (no pun intended)

Yes I will be the guinea pig, haha.
These are strong cases, durable and should be able to handle some abuse.

I just tested it out with holding the briefcases on their sides. The silver one had no sound or movement whatsoever even when I shook it...and when I re-opened back on the ground the cards were perfect. The black one had a little sound and movement when I shook it...and when I re-opened it the cards were perfect. But be aware I think I may have switched the top foam insert from the black to the silver when I was exchanging the foam around...so that's why NOW the silver one contains an upper level of foam that creates a very firm closure when clamping down the briefcase. I think the black one is actually the one that comes with the upper level of foam...this is the most important part if you want the snuggest closure. So just make sure when you are buying that you get whichever one has the top foam inserts (the smaller foam in one of my pictures is from a briefcase from flawless basketball if anyone was wondering)

Thanks for the info.

I like your textbook style bold highlights. They really make me focus on key points.

Hahaha.

For those who follow the baseball section some and remember the Prospect Rush boxes, they were using the Pelican 1150 for their product. I've never heard of Harbor Freight so this might be a good alternative for some others as well. I can't say I've tried it but I think I remember people liking them

Do you have to cut the foam out on those Pelicans or are there some that have pre cut sections.

I'd rather have pelican cases personally.

I honestly don't know. There were several threads on these cases in the baseball section at one point. You might find your answer by searching for one of those.

there is also a few people on here and Net 54 that make custom boxes from wood for magnetics & graded slabs - these are very cool btw!!! I ended up getting drawers for my safe, organizing them to easily move and cards in and out.

These might be appropriate for storing my high value Sergei Bazarevich cards.

Yea I asked one of the individuals multiple times what his prices were for the wooden custom boxes and I never got an answer so I had to figure something out on my own

That's a good idea.

Are those those storage slots already cut into the case inside or do you have to do them yourself

It comes with dividers and foam so u can use either one for dividing. The dividers are nice since they go higher. I used the dividers for the rows on the outer edges and the foam for the inner rows. That help?
