Default Do you think old shool box break can be successful?

I recently joined a few box breaks online at LCS Facebook page. I haven't hit yet.lol however it's affordable and fun. My question is do you think there is enough interest in older boxes like 2000 to 2010 that people would join. It seems we all get nostalgic on those old school inserts. Just was curious.

I think it depends on product and intention of the break.

If you're happy with cool inserts and star base, yeah.
But for hits, there's always the possibility of redemptions.

Oddly enough, I am hunting for two particular redemption cards out of the 2000 Playoff Contenders boxes. Of course, for an obvious reason, those boxes don't come cheap these days. Oh well. The hunt continues.

I've been breaking early 2000's UD stuff for a while. There are a LOT of cards that never show up any more but, it's NFL, so a vast majority of collectors just don't care. While the sell values to cost of product really isn't there, unless you are lucky enough to hit player(s) who are still playing today, I'm in it more for the designs and chasing HOFer stuff. This really is more of a 'collecting because you like it' area.

I super collect a guy from 2003. Lots of the older stuff is still outrageous for some reason. Also redemption and lack of hits per box as compared to today.

if the product isn't a redemption riddled product then it can be, but what I have learned about busting older stuff is go for something you like as far as the set goes. if you're opening it for money you might as well take some lube to make it easier on yourself.

This is at least the second reference to lube that I've read around here today. I'm starting to worry about you guys.

its true, as fun as it's opening older stuff you really need the lube unless you get the boxes at an absolute steal, most boxes will from the mid 90's to early 2000's wont have much return unless you hit one of the rare inserts/parallels, and there is a reason they are worth so much because they were HARD to pull back then.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. My interest in it was more chasing down older stuff and not making money. Lots of valid points and lube talk.
