Default Show me your Bortles~!

So a couple of guys mentioned they wanted to see a couple of my newer Bortles pickups.......and truth is there have been a bunch of guys posting their Bortles here lately. Some extremely nice stuff, above and beyond what I can get at this time.

Regardless we need one big thread where we can all put our pics up.

Here is my small (but growing) Bortles collection.

My first Bortles snag was actually the Championship ticket.... then these two NFL gears. (I will likely send the gears off for grading)

The Pen Pals I picked up a few weeks back, then today I just got in this "Rookie Ink" and the Chrome.
Getting the graded stuff adds up quick.

Lets see 'em boys.

Not sure why, but Bortles reminds me a bit of Tannehill...there was an unhealthy craze before the year started and people were buying him like crazy...then he tanked. Mediocre team in a market that is not known to spend money. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

Signed,

The guy who has a bunch of Nick Foles cards.

Thank you for posting in our new Bortles apologists thread.
And thanks you for the compliments on my Championship ticket, it was my first Bortles purchase....got me hooked.
I really want to add in the variation to have "bookends" but the only graded 9.5 ones I see are $550 OBO.

What do you think of the above card of yours I quoted?
I think the overall condition is excellent, at least from what I can see.
One of the better patches I have seen on his cards, its just centered well and the coloring seems to pop off the card, maybe its the angle.

Now, I do want to bring up something, that I am sure a few have noticed.
There seems to be a run of his "rookie tickets", where he had a bad pen, and several of his autos are bubbling badly. I watched a number of them on EBAY for a few months.
There are a few on EBAY currently, and there is one PSA 10 that is spectacular, except there is a bunch of bubbling in the "Bortles" part of his sig.
I thought about making an offer on it, but the OCD in me kicks in and I am not sure if I would be happy with it.
There is also a PSA 9 there too that is nice, but again it has a similar problem with the sig in his last name.

THEN there is yet another BGS 9.5 that looks to be a great card, and yet it has an autograph "9". The weird part about that is, the auto looks much better than several examples there currently, (some I listed above) yet it somehow only gets a 9 auto. I don't understand it.

gslayton-, I know you just got your Bortles in, but what would it take for you to part with the above card?
I'm not actually looking to make an offer, just wondering your thoughts on it.
I would be debating on getting it graded bro. It looks awfully nice.
The corners look great...at least as far as I can tell from the picture.

By the way, I just noticed there is a PSA 10 Cracked Ice variation on EBAY right now. It would look awfully sweet beside the ICE you have now, a matching pair.
Not sure you actually want to look at the price/OBO on it though. Yikes~!

Starfox- That variations needs to be in a mag sir. Nice Jambalaya btw, thats the first one of those I have seen.

weichni- Nice Flawless and the booklet too.
I have been debating on picking up a booklet. They don't seem to appreciate quite as fast as the cards do, but I still think they are nice pieces.
I have a David Johnson here, in a magnetic holder.
I have heard booklets and playbooks in general are extremely tough to get a 9.5 grade if you send them in for grading. They must be overly harsh on those for some reason.

I really don´t like graded booklets ... simply because of the size of the slabs these are put in.
The Chrome SP auto is on it´s way to BGS though. I´m not much into grading but the card looks really good to me (scratches are on the holder).

I agree with the slabbed graded booklets being overly clunky and just too big.
Nab yourself a booklet magnetic though, they look super nice I think. (or maybe you have it in something already)
At worst it will protect your investment. Thats how I tend to look at it anyway.

Let me know how that Chrome grades out, and post it here when you get it back.
Hopefully you snag a 9 or better.

I have it in a booklet one-touch ... just took the scan before I got the one-touch in the mail.
Will let you know how the chrome grades out

Very nice Championship Ticket Nate.
I have the standard, not the variation that you have. Sooner or later my OCD will get the best of me, and I will get the variation to go with it.
The variations prices are getting a bit too big though, many are $550 OBO.(if you are looking at graded btw)

The Black and Gold are generally underappreciated in my opinion.
Many say they are "cheap looking cards", but I rather like their look....some of them anyway.
I have a Metallic Marks David Johnson that is a blockbuster. Beautiful in person.
Sadly anything not Chrome, Rookie Ticket/Contenders or National Treasures aren't as universally liked, nor do they seem to hold as much value across the board.
(which I must admit, thats where most of the "quality" is, so I can see why, but theres still other nice cards)

On that note- I see no one has listed any Prizm cards here yet. I wonder why...?
They certainly aren't the best Bortles cards on the market, but I have been looking at a few nice graded ones the last few days. I'm sure there are a few in peoples hands here on the board.
I'm not looking to dump a bunch of money into Prizm cards, but I may snag one or two down the road.

You interested in getting rid of the 1/25 card???

I'm extremely interested in this one.
But if you aren't moving it, still congrats.

Now I know some of you cats have some of the other "lesser" lines....right?

If anyone has any Prizm graded cards, Finest or anything else graded, I would like to see it.

I snagged a card tonight from one of the "lesser lines", but when I saw it and the shape it was in, I decided to get it.
I just happened to see it in the closing minutes of an auction, and I fired in a bid in the last minute or so (and it was already at what I thought was a fair price) and I got it without a fight.

I won't mention what it was, as I may have beaten one of you guys out in the last minute or so of the auction. (and when I post if, you will recognize it immediately if you had any bids in on it)
No other hints other than it wasn't a very expensive card...but you don't see many of them on Ebay.
AND it looks damn pristine. I will send it off for grading soon when I mount up and send off my big batch I have been gathering.

Nice Black Chrome packerfan.

I may be interested at some point, but not for a week or so.
Got a few other things on the radar currently.

Which BY THE WAY - Its been a busy "Bortles weekend" here on my front.
I snagged 4 cards of him, only 3 of the 4 was I really expecting to get, but almost all of them went cheaper than anticipated.

Scans soon boys~!
1 is a "1/1" , but the others will likely be sent in for grading before I get them up here.

Stay tuned.......
