I've had several auctions over the last two weeks that are being run up by zero-feedback bidders, who cancel their bid as soon as they become the high bidder. I happened to flip over to one of my auctions a few minutes ago -- which had about an hour left -- and saw this happening. I blocked the bidder at about the same time he canceled his final bid.
I have pretty clear instructions about zero-feedback bidders in my item description, but there's really nothing I can do to prevent them from bidding. Any explanation as to why someone would do this? Again, it's happened to me several times lately - and each time, the bidder has zero feedback and bails on his/her final bid. As an aside, while I do agree with the username in spirit, I wish he'd stay the f-ck away from my auctions ![]() |

The username should have stuck out somehow. You can always check their ebay history or profile! That username is definitely not one for ebay

Same thing happend to a few of my auctions a while back, but only on the topps baseball black version cards. Zero feedback bidder won both times and of course never paid. Only thing I can think of is people are just plain stupid and have nothing better to do.

Its probably a Seller Bidding the cards up to the point he is the high bidder and then he Knows where to sell his card at in his Store as he now knows what the buyers are willing to pay. Its a New Scam as one person can have Numerous ID's. Its happening alot to me also.

I usually see this happen when there are only a few bidders on my items, not much time left, someone puts a bid in to see where the high bidders highest bid is, retracts the bid, then a previous bidder usually in an attempt to make a slightly better offer as time is expiring. Could be a coincidence but wouldn't surprise me.
