I wasn’t going to post anything here. I wanted to get a licensed set announced first, but then today I received a message from someone at Beckett who wanted a checklist so they could include my new project in the Non-Sports Price Guide. That was more than enough to make me think I’m official.
I had been thinking about doing this for many years, but it wasn’t until I befriended Richard Parks, of RRParks Cards, that I took it seriously. I had backed his Kickstarter for “Gary Saves the Graveyard” (a super fun web series available on YouTube if you haven’t seen it) cards and began messaging with him on FaceBook. He became a great mentor and coached me through my first set. I started small. Very small. It was just a preview set for the 1960 Little Shop of Horrors movie (public domain) that I released back in April. Nine cards, one sticker and one Kickstarter exclusive card. Oh, with metal card variants. I worked with the awesome artists Jason Brower and Jennifer Allyn to add some original art. It was a way for me to dip my toes, go through the process of designing, printing, wrapping, distribution, etc. without a large commitment. It was a Kickstarter success raising more than 200% of its goal, but a financial flop where I lost about a hundred bucks. However, that’s why I did something small. I chalk up that small loss to “tuition” in Card Publishing 101. I’ve launched my second set which just hit its fundraising goal today. It’s another smaller set, centered on Sharks and featuring all new original art by the extremely talented Kokkinakis Achilleas. Ten different sharks along with shark teeth relic cards. This is a medium set that is allowing me to create my first relics and some top rate packaging. I don’t want to oversell it, but this is not going to look like a second set from a new publisher…this will rival what you get from the Big Boys. It has been an absolute honor to work with Kokkinakis on this project. The man is not only a gifted artist, but hands-down one of the nicest people you will ever meet. Jason and Jennifer were awesome with LSOH too. I've been very lucky to already have three great artists contribute to my sets. I hope to announce my next set soon as I am in discussions with two licenses (and have “feelers” out on plenty more). The Sharks set will serve as an excellent demonstration of what I can provide and having Beckett list my cards in their Price Guide will add a great deal of legitimacy. I absolutely LOVE the 1960 LSOH, so that will be getting a full release next April or so. If you are interested in backing Sharks! By Kokkinakis, you can check it out on Kickstarter. Jeremy Attic Cards Mods: I hesitated in mentioning the live Kickstarter as I don’t want to be perceived as selling a product. However, there is precedent for Kickstarters being listed here with Topps Mars Attacks, Strangewise #9, Benchwarmers, Decision 2016. I’d love to add a retail level if you’re interested in stocking it!

And working with Kokkinakis? Wow. Lucky for me the man likes sharks! I've been blessed to have such amazing artists work with me so early on.
