Phil Anselmo. Very glad I was able to see Pantera twice.

I was a big Corey Taylor fan back in high school but now I really like Ivan Moody.

I don't think I even know what the correct description of "heavy metal" is. Maybe we all have different interpretations?

Phil Anselmo for sure. Mike Patton isn't a heavy metal singer, but one of my faves. Layne Staley is one of my faves, but not what I would consider a heavy metal singer. Phil Anselmo and Corey Taylor would be my top two picks.

I don't know my favorite but the best pure singer is probably Geoff Tate.

Great singer! When it comes to pure aggro singing and getting your ass kicked by the vocals, which is what heavy metal means to me, Anselmo and Taylor doesn't get any better. I understand Halford and Tate etc....they can hit some notes! I prefer unadulterated aggression over hitting high notes I spose.

Yeah, I like the edge in the singing, but I never cared for Anselmo simply because I like to understand what they're singing. I mean, I can enjoy speed metal every now and then, but after a while it all sounds the same. (Though gotta love Billy Milano). My actual favorites would be someone among Joe Elliott, Vince Neil, Ozzy, Sebastian Bach, Axl, Roth, Hagar, and a bunch others I may be forgetting.

I can't tell you how much I really wanted to just reply with Dave Brockie.

I don't consider Pantera speed metal. That's a different genre. I know Phil's lyrics. Speed or death metal is either too fast or too low growl to understand. Phil not so. And if you want to compare hitting high notes, listen to Cowboys From Hell. He hits some notes! But that's not why I love him. Vulgar Display of Power and Far Beyond Driven are my two fave albums from Pantera.

And...who the eff is Dave Brockie? Lol

Sidenote, I know Billy Milano, MOD one of my faves as well. Very funny sheet, and sounds good!
