I probably won one of the most improbable championships ever. Wasn't a huge payout but it will help pay a bill. I limped in at 7-6 where I only won two games in a row once. Last seed. And I won out out winning three games in row beating the three top seeds. I don't feel I deserve the championship cause my team was a crapshoot all weekend. My team was Dak, Zeke, Hilton, Lafell, Thomas, Walford, New England Defense and Kicker. Lafell 80 yard plus touchdown was certainly a miracle for me.
I was behind 39 points going into Monday and worried that my two going would sit after short play time. They got me 45 between the two. So what was your story. Win with no sweats or was there a miracle in your win.. |

My son beat me twice in the regular season and in the first round of the playoffs. He won the championship and was also the league commissioner, I am asking for a recount.

Probably the worst fantasy experience ever and quite the opposite of what you experienced OP!
Let me start by saying it's a ten player auction draft with $200 buy in. In addition; Last Place: Pays $200 9th: $100 8th: $50 In past two years I came in 8th having to pay an additional $50 into league. Well, this year I squeaked into playoffs by getting 4th place, no payout, which was fine. Then I beat the number one seed in first round of playoffs and emailed commissioner figuring I had locked in money making the championship, only to find out; Regular Season: 3rd Place: $300 2nd Place: $400 Winner Regular Season: $600 Championship Winner: $780 Weekly high score got $20 and remaining funds went to trophey. Now, I understand I should have been more familiar with payouts if I was playing in league, but finishing eigth first two years it was out of sight/out of mind, but I was pretty surprised there was no consolation prize for championship. Bringing us to this week, my opponent (also commissioner) started whining as soon as Giants lost on Thursday night as he had Zeke and Witten. Going into Saturday night's game I had a 32 point lead with Hopkins (hoping he would have big game with OZ out) and Spencer Ware. He had Zeke, Witten, and Justin Tucker. After a pretty horrible game by Texans/Hopkins I still had hope that Ware would have decent night. Steelers/Ravens game was one of the best football games I had watched in a while, but yet I had a horrible taste in my mouth that Tucker scored 14 pts and cut significantly into my lead. Ware started out the first half alright, but frustrated with Hill and Kelce going off and then even more frustrated when Ware went out early in the fourth when it's typical time to pound the ball and run the clock. Poe TD pass was fun, but obviously not beneficial to my chances. Bringing us to last night, where I had a 30 point lead and much like the rest of the NFL fans questioning how much playing time Cowboys starters would get. Good first drive, one catch for Witten, 5 yards for Zeke. Next series...Bang long Zeke TD run. Thought for sure I was finished! Then minimal point next drive and eventually McFadden makes appearance and I get message from opponent, "congrats buddy, looks like starters are out...Just wish it was a fair matchup". Goalline TD by Zeke, TD pass Dez to Witten later and below occurs and of course Zeke gets pulled directly after. Went from possibly winning $780 to winning nothing. Top league was just for fun and I had both Zeke and Luck on my team (whom my opponent in money league also had), so I wasn't too concerned about losing that match up; (Just FYI, that was final score...)

Ouch, does sound like a rough night. Mine was a difference of 300 to 720. All that goes right to good old doctors taking care of me but it does help for sure. And was just nice to get a little lucky after such a crap year.

Don't know if I'll play any fantasy next year, I take it way too seriously for something that is mostly random and completely out of my control. Of course, I'll come across as a sore loser, but there were other factors specifically with the money league that were extremely disappointing. I'll be able to go back to enjoying the game, rather then getting frustrated when a player on a team I would otherwise not care for underperforms...etc |

I had the craziest fantasy season - I was very lucky and won all 3 of my leagues this year but in my biggest money league it was crazy. This league is $350 Payout is $2,100, $1,050, and $350 no regular season payouts.
I finished 5-8 despite having the most points on the season so clearly I had the worst luck during the regular season - then we get to the playoffs and in the semi finals I bench Brandin Cooks for Michael Thomas - Cooks had over 30 points Thomas had 14.70 and I was only up 1.55 going into Monday night and he still had Jordan Reed to go so I was just watching the game waiting until he got an 11 yard catch to beat me only to have him get one catch for 6 yards and I win by .45. Then in the championship my opponent had the top 4 players in our matchup but because I had everyone get over 10 points - I had Winston, Dak, Mike Evans, Cooks, Michael Thomas, Hyde, Gurley, Zeke, Gates, Matt Bryant, and Chargers D. I managed to win the league - so basically Jordan Reed throwing his punch is the reason I went from winning 350 to 2100 - so Jordan Reed is now my favorite player in the NFL! |

First year playing FF, joined an 8 man PPR league. Went with Gronk in the first, Cam in the third, Eddie Lacey in the fourth. Late round picks saved me somehow managed to draft Mike Evans and TY Hilton late on. Worked the waiver wire and made it to winning the Ship.

Made 5 semifinals only went to one championship and lost that 160 to 120 in standard scoring.
I went 13-1 in one league and ended up in fourth place...went from great to crap real fast

Second best record in a twelve team league (eight made playoffs), but because of ESPN's stupid divisional seeding, I ended up as the #3 seed. Had I been the #2 seed as the second best record, I would've rolled to an easy championship. Instead, the #6 seed went off against me while the #7 seed scored under 80 in a .5PPR league.
Bummer.

i play in 2 leagues and run 1 of them.
my league i sucked most of the yr but won 4 in a row and needed the 5th in a row to get last playoff spot. i lost by a few after making a wrong call of who to play. turns out i would have won it all had i got the last spot as i kept track of it going the rest of the way. my fiancee was in and the 2nd seed, similar thing happened to her, brady sucked against denver but there wasn't anyone on waivers that did better or she would have won it all. in the other league we had a team together and cruised along most of the yr. avg margin of victory was 43 pts then the last few weeks no one could score a td for us. went from around 150 plus pts a week to barely 100-110. we squeaked out a win with 99 pts to make the championship, predicted to be about even and lost by 61. here's a few things that killed us -grabbed charles clay and played vernon davis ouch 22 points -grabbed adam theilen since he had diggs just to block him and almost played him over malcolm mitchell another big pts difference 41 points -grabbed alfred blue and went to switch out for amari cooper and thought cooper played at 425 not 405 and missed deadline to switch only 8 points but would the others would have won easily -also thought ravens/pitt would be low scoring so went with sebastian janikowski over tucker another 11 points left on the table added with all that julio jones didn't get much matt forte was our best back and he didn't do much down the stretch, kenneth farrow got hurt against browns so went from winning possible $900 to only getting our $100 entry back oh well we'll be back next yr
