Everything you need to know about Panini America’s upcoming 2016-17 Limited Basketball can be ascertained with one quick glance at the product packaging. It’s right there on the front of the box, just below a larger-than-life image of New Orleans Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis: “New & Improved: Every Autograph Now Comes Paired With Memorabilia!”
Actually, that’s probably not everything you need to know about the next edition of one of basketball collecting’s most popular products, but it’s a good start. Set to arrive in hobby shops across North America one week from tomorrow, 2016-17 Limited Basketball delivers, on average, one autograph memorabilia card and one autograph memorabilia card or memorabilia card per box. Every autograph memorabilia card in the product is numbered to 99 or less and the new No Limit chase features 15 cards with print runs of less than 100 per card.

Keith Hower, Brett Whitely and the Panini America Basketball Product Development Team spent some quality time late last week overseeing packout for this year’s release and the following Quality Control Gallery details some of that they saw. They have a case hit (or close to it), which is a sticker auto and features a guy who has averaged a whopping 8.6 minutes per game over the past 2 seasons, and 90% of collectors couldn't pick out of a lineup. Oh, and to add the cherry on top of this sweet freaking pie, there is chipping all over the top edge of the card before it even gets packed out.

If you continue to support this crap you're part of the problem.

90% of products from every company in every sport look like crap. I would probably put Topps at 95% garbage.

The Kobe is not a bad card but the Kyrie from the preview looked horrible. And I'm pretty sure the Kyrie had a patch from a jersey and not a warmup

the base is immaculate + nt, the autos & jerseys are the same as various immaculate and nt except they have the limited logo on them. most of it looks good i guess, just boring and repetitive and at $100 the average box will lose 90%, or more.

Wow.....I loved Big Z like any old school Cavs fan......but pulling him as a "hit" with a sticker auto and a jersey from an insert called "Phenoms"? Seriously Panini? You guys are on a serious roll for 2017.

That's a mock-up. I wouldn't be surprised though if they put jersey pieces into it.
