Default Shipping High End to COMC question

My apologies if there is already a thread explaining this, I have searched a bit and found some useful info via sticky's and such but my search terms may be too broad to find my answers. Anyway....

Just sold a card for $2000+ and the buyer's paypal address is their COMC mailbox. Has anyone ever had an issue with the signature confirmation and proof of delivery side of things with a claim through paypal?

Unsure if the "Attn: (mailbox name here)" creates a grey area when a dispute occurs via paypal. I have sold a bunch of lower end cards and sent to COMC but never shipped to them with high value insurance and signature confirmation so just wanted to make sure I cover myself.

Any insight would be much appreciated.

Tho I cant say 100% - As long as you ship it to the address provided then you are clear. All you need to show is confirmation of delivery. There are quite a few people here who both have and ship to COMC mailboxes. I'm sure a few will chime in and say you're good to go.

+1. Some buyers will request you ship to a location different than that presented in the PayPal detail. DO NOT DO THIS.

-1. Signature confirmation is REQUIRED for items of $750 or more:

"Signature Confirmation, if the full amount of the payment (including shipping and taxes) is $750 USD or more. This is documentation that can be viewed at the shipping company’s website and indicates that the item was signed for on delivery."

To the best of my knowledge, the buyer himself/herself does NOT need to be the one to sign. Any individual at the buyer's shipping address included in the PayPal transaction detail is acceptable.

Although I've never shipped something that high end to COMC, I have shipped multiple lower end (like $100-200) cards to the buyers COMC account without issues.

All good information provided so far Dustin.

Justin (the quoted response above) is a smart dude, who really knows his stuff when it comes to high end, so I would recommend doing exactly what he laid out here and you should be good to go.

I don't know the nuts and bolts of the protection coverage and whatnot but I would say in a general sense you could probably feel safer about sending a big card to a comc address versus a random person home address

So glad you pointed that out. I totally spaced this was a $2000 transaction. My apologies OP for almost screwing you!

I will also add - do not add "filler" cards for protection as your buyer will get charged fees for them. Use cardboard or dummy cards (the solid white ones found in packs).

Appreciate all the good info here. Looks like the card made it to COMC today "left with individual". I will be giving them a call tomorrow just to touch base and see if they can confirm the card made it to the buyers mailbox but I doubt I can get much more info than that. It will be on the buyer to let me know that it has been scanned an in there account.

Again, thanks to all who posted! Love this forum / hate Bryan Colangelo. (I just had to)
