Default An Overlooked Fact: HOF Collecting Has Entered A New Era

Haven't seen anyone mention this, but.....

......with election of RB LaDainian Tomlinson to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, we have officially entered the era of HOFers with 1/1 rookie cards. Let's see if any of his 2001 1/1 RCs ever surface and what they go for.

Just something to keep an eye on. Look for Randy Moss to possibly be the second.

I'd say we're still 6 years away from seeing our first true Chrome Superfractor HOF rookie.

I don't specifically collect HOFers, but I realize that many members do and their collections largely revolve around condition more than scarcity. So a bit of a paradigm shift for those collectors as HOFers are starting have their rookie seasons in the 1/1 era.

Yeah, the paradigm shift will be that
now HOF collectors can never be completists.

According to Beckett, Tom Brady has 6 1/1 RCs. Genuinely curious, has anyone here ever even laid eyes on them?

Kurt Warner has 1/1 rookie parallels too: Fleer Focus Masterpieces and Upper Deck Encore FX Gold.

And we entered this era last year. Orlando Pace has Playoff Contenders Gold, which is 1/1 (and he has printing plates too, if those count).

My guess is that DeMarcus Ware will be the first player with a rookie superfractor to be enshrined, but his is in Finest, not Topps Chrome or Bowman Chrome.

if you are counting plates - you have to go back farther than Pace. Faulk's 1994 plates are available

larry allen was also in that set, but was enshrined after faulk.

Auction Catalog right now I think $25,000-30,000 wouldn't be surprising with the right heavyweights stepping in
