Default Greatest Guitar Player Of All Time

I'll go with Tom Morello. Hendrix and Clapton close second.

Honorable mention Terry Kath.

In my opinion, no way is Morello even a top 5. The debate should start after Hendrix

What are you judging them by? Actual talent and difficulty or impact on history or just popularity?

Not the greatest of all time on most folks' list but how is Keith Richards not even a choice above? He's the punchline for jokes about drugs but the man created some of the most well known licks in rock music.

This is what I was wondering. If it's impact on history / popularity it's easily hendrix.

My favorite guitarist in terms of pure skill is Joe Satriani. Surfing with the alien is an absolute classic

I am judging by my taste in guitar players. I realize everyone has different tastes when it comes to music, wine, beer, cheese, etc. So go with who you feel is the best.

This forum only allows 10 spots on the poll. There are so many others I could have listed as choices, but alas, I must only use 10. Well 9, with the "Other" option.

Even a guy like Peter Frampton could be on the list.

Is he a #1 ever kind of guy? No, but he fits with many of the others.
