BGS Results Mailday! KG, KAT, Simmons, Durant, Giannis (Pic heavy)

So I just got back a BGS submission today and was fairly pleased with the results. There were a couple of duds/bad grades that I wasn't really expecting and I still have never hit a 10 overall grade ever, but I can't complain too much. So without further ado... Here are the cards!

First off, we have the duds of the group :

I'm glad that the card came back legit and not counterfeit or anything, but was disappointed in the double 8.5 subs. I didn't see anything on the surface

but oh well not that big of a deal.

This one hurt quite a bit

I feel like both the centering and surface got hit a bit hard on this one, but still a beautiful card. Oh well, I still need it for my complete set of silver prizms for that year but I wish it was at least a 9. I'll probably try to trade up later at some point.

Next we have the slight disappointment cards...

Before I sent all of these cards in, I would have swore this card was a lock for a 9.5 and could even get a 10 overall. Guess I was wrong :/ Only half a point away and I probably will cross this to PSA at some point down the road or just sell as is.

Not thrilled with the 8.5 surface and I probably could have actually cleaned the front of the card before sending

This one could probably grade better if I broke out and resubbed, but probably not worth the effort.

Really bummed with the 8 surface but happy that I still got the 9 overall grade. I'm pretty sure the surface issue is with a fabric thread on the back of the card that maybe could be washed off with alcohol or something but I didn't want to risk ruining the card. It is a weird fabric like material if you've never held one of these and not like paper. Still pretty stoked about getting a 9 though.

Sad that this didn't gem out, but the card is so rare that I don't think it will matter too much value wise. I mostly just wanted it slabbed as a galactic!

Not much of a disappointment here as this is a really condition sensitive card with the foil. Just sad that the corners ended up making this miss getting gem mint by half a point

Getting 9.5 on all other subs is awesome though, especially for the centering since it is usually off on this card.

Now for the great cards! Pictures basically speak for themselves!

I didn't really think both of these would gem and the silver wouldn't, but hey I guess I don't know what I'm talking about! Love getting the quad 9.5 on the flash prizm. May move these two in order to help get a gem silver or something.

Super happy with getting both of these back gem mint as I pack pulled them both from retail this year. Awesome

Beard man! Great to gem out both of these after finding them in one of our old boxes of cards without even sleeves on them

However, they both look awesome and so glad to have them in slabs.

Always liked the look of this card and so happy with the subs. I actually thought this was a good candidate for a 10 overall and I wasn't too far off.

All I can say about this card is YES YES YES.

Finally... both of my Revolution Galactic Kevin Buddies...

Super thrilled with the grades on these beauties and over the moon with the KG as he's my favorite player. Pack pulled the Durant so that always nice to see it grade so well.

3 of those cards are ones I submitted with Luni...the Harden Crown Royale auto, the Durant Showstopper Galactic and Giannis Purple Prizm.

I'm pretty pleased with the results, I wished the galactic were a gem mint but sometimes the corners are a little off with those cards, all 3 of them either got a 9 or 8.5 on corners and really good otherwise.

In hand, the card looks very well centered to me so I actually think the grade is right. I've been waiting for over a year for that card on Ebay and bought the best raw one I could find centered... It would be no worse than a 9 ever in my book. Could just be the lighting/angle of my pic that it looks off. Either way, doesn't really matter since it will stay in my PC for probably ever lol

I think the glare threw you off.

Love the Garnetts OP, but I think you can see why the Noyz Boyz got an 8 surface. Just look at the top of the card. Some clear bleedover.

If you're talking about the weird stuff at the top where the black doesn't go all the way to the edge, I've never seen a KG in this set that is any different from mine. I have no idea why every other player has a nice clear border around the letters and KG has some weird crap happening, but that is the way it looks I guess.

Either way, not too shook up about the grade since I got it raw on a good deal from COMC.

Interesting, I've never seen anyone point that out before and it seems you're right.

I think there's a 50/50 chance the grader themself was even aware, and that's being generous. So natural or not, I still think it's a good possible explanation for their ding.

Unless of course that fabric you mentioned was the issue all along.

Either way, sweet card.
