Default What has been your worst Baseball Card Trade?

Anyways mine was the time I traded a 2012 Topps Museum Jumbo Patch Autograph /10 of Buster Posey for a 9.5 2013 Bowman Chrome Mark Appel Blue Wave Autograph /50. Feel Free to leave yours!

at one point, I sold a Micheal Jordan card for $20 at a card shop and purchased more packs of cards, probably comic cards. That card went for over $100, none graded, within a month or two, back when released. It Ended up being a very rare pull and has held good value to this day and would probably be my most expensive MJ card I own. I'm pretty sure it's this card (93-94 Fleer Ultra Scoring kings Thunder Lightning insert)

If I would have been able to wait and sell even for $40, I would have probably purchased 4 more Griffey RC cards in better condition than the ones I own(my favorite player) A better long term investment compared to the comic cards I have sitting in the box that are terrible condition to resell bc I handled them way too much.

1985 Fleer Eric Davis RC for an 800 count lot of 1990 Leaf cards. The Davis was about a $20 card if I remember (that's back when we used Beckett magazines), and the Leaf at the time booked for about 5 cents apiece. About 6 months later, the Leaf started to spike. The guy I was trading with later said he had read they were going up and knew he was taking me. Ah well, live and learn.

actually, my trade was worse than originally thought. the year was 93-94, not 97. Updated my original post with the change.

My First Ever Trade on the Beckett boards.

Traded a Matt Schaub 3 color SPA for a Mark Bradley 3 Color SPA.

Never recived the Bradley, Scammed on my first ever F****** trade... Maybe that's why I don't like to trade lol

I don't trade very often, and that's probably a good thing. The one bad one I can remember is receiving a 2009 Topps Finest RC Auto of young ace David Price, in exchange for trading away a 2010 Bowman Chrome RC Auto Refractor of some sixth round scrub for the Red Sox named Anthony Rizzo.

About 4 years, when my Trout Update was in the $25 range, I traded it to my friend for a Rizzo auto and a Dolph Schayes auto plus a handful of other base/inserts haha

Did that leaf box have Sosas and Big hurt RCs inside?
Davis was such a freak though.

In 2011 trading a Jose Fernandez base auto redemption out of draft for an Alex Gordon triple threads auto. Worth about the same at the time

1965 Joe Namath for a 67 Namath...I was in junior high and thought the big card was ugly

My friend literally had his NY aunt find a bunch of 50s and 60s cards in the attic which included (2) 65 RC Namath cards and he gave me one. Stupid kid I am 48 and regret to this day...saving grace was card was in a 4-5 condition but it's still a stupid trade....waaaahhhh.

Big cards are ugly...great thinking genius!!!

I can fill this page with the horrible trades I have done over the years. Then again, I have made some great purchases. Trades are a different story.

Back in 1988, I traded a stack of 1951 Topps Ringside Boxing cards that were in F-G condition for a 500 count box of 1987 Topps Eric Plunk cards. WTF. I thought Plunk was going to be great. I remember the Ringside had most of the better cards such as Sugar Ray Robinson.

Second is I traded with a sharp dealer, a super clean, centered 1952 Topps Hi-Number Earl Harrist for a 1983 Tony Gywnn PSA 9. I believe the Harrist would have graded out to at least an 8. It was from Rosen's find.

Live & learn.

traded an ultimate dual auto /25 griffey-jeter for a 80% complete set of donruss significant signatures. I ended up trading/selling the set because of a move.

Don Mossi is a legend of cardboard. Has anyone ever heard of Alan Knicely, this century? I even own hundreds of 1986 Topps cards. Maybe I have doubles, lemme check.

I had no idea Topps made boxing cards then. How valuable are they?

1951 Topps Ringside. As usual it varies. I did have the major stars. Condition was Fair-Good. Still, 500 1987 Topps Eric Plunk cards, wouldn't even buy me or you a bottle of water from the Costco vending machine.

1952 Bowman Mantle PSA 9 of for 4 1996 Topps gold refractors.

Yeah. That's right. A 1952 mantle you could shave with the corners were so sharp for 4 shiney gold refractors which contrary to Topps claims there were a crapload more than 150.
