Default What players are excelling this year but been overshadowed by Judge Hupe?

First off and MOST IMPORTANT! This is NOT a Judge thread. Please let's keep this from turning into another thread on Judge!

2017 has turned into an amazing year for baseball! All true baseball fans are loving it, and all people who use collectibles to make a living are probably loving it even more. This year is exactly what baseball needed.

My question is what players are having amazing seasons that any other year would be talked about non stop.

I am alright the the hype around Judge because the collecting world focus is on him, and my PC guy is cheap to buy right now so I am buying what I can before long I see him skyrocketing in price.

So my guy is Miguel Sano. Always was expected to do well until 2016 when he under performed so he has been cheap because of it. Let's take a look at his 2017 so far:

21 HR, the last being hit last night.
62 RBI
.276 BA
.368 OBP
.538 SLG
.906 OPS

Stats like this in any other season would be talked about. I am excited to see him play, he will end up 30+HR, and has potential to hit 40. With a great second half he could even approach 50. I understand that will likely not happen, but it could.

So my question is who is having a career season but no one talks about it because of Judge or Bellinger?

I would think Benintendi would be selling better if it wasn't for these two? I've picked up a few nice Benny's for what I thought were really good prices

Benny is another good choice. I am not yet sold on him, but can imagine what the talk would be about him.

I believe this to be the best answer so far. I was compeletely unaware of Smoak's performance thus far prior to the ASG. And Robbie Ray has been quite outstanding. If Ray was in Boston or NY, we would be hearing his name all of the time.

Whit Merrifield of the Royals is having a nice season. He's been a spark plug for the team keeping them in the hunt for AL Central. Plays good D and seems to get clutch hits.

Jimmy Nelson - if he had a sexier name or played for a sexier team, he'd be getting talked about, for sure.

Anthony Rendon's quietly on pace for a .300/.400/.500 season with 30 homers and 100 RBI, plus quality defense at third. Barely sniffed his way into the final vote for the ASG.

My guess is he finishes around 290/370/470 but still gets to 25 homers and 80+ RBIs.

A lot of these guys are having good seasons but I don't think they're prices would be any different if judge wasn't doing what he's doing

Most of these have been mentioned already, but I came here to say Mancini, Smoak, Morrison, Andrus, Ray, and Manaea. 2 more guys that are a bit of a stretch but are playing well lately are Orlando Arcia and Raimel Tapia

Domingo Santana is having a solid season. He's still only 24.

Stros are loaded and very well could be playing when Judge and Yanks are sitting on the couch, but Houston players never get hot with collectors. It seems like Altuve, Springer and CC, all had their hot list season and now no one cares about them. Seems like the same way in football also.

Will people even care if they win the world series?

Smoak is someone I just had to look up. I also had no idea, every network aren't covering these guys. I would never had thought of him if I am looking for a breakout player.
