Default Netflix Ozark

If you're a fan of Breaking Bad, this should definitely get your fix...only on second episode but probably going to binge all 10!

I've only seen Bateman in comedies, hopefully he's good in this.

Bateman is the man whether it be comedy or drama. Looking forward to this.

Through 4 episodes so far. I am enjoying it though I feel it's trying a little too hard.

The sub plot with the young son and his "love" for animals was truly strange. I don't really care if they explore that again. Also, the daughter needs to be punched in the face.

And the seemingly mandatory homosexual character. Enough already. I very nearly turned it off.

I'm not going to apologize for finding the act physically repulsive. I'm also not going to apologize for being tired of seeing the incessant pandering in popular culture to appeal to that demographic for no discernible reason.

I'm sure the gay community loves being represented as the, cliche by now in tv shows, potentially psychopath lawman, such strong pandering, indeed. < sarcasm.

I have not finished the show yet, so don't know if the FBI agent turns out to be "good" or "bad" by any measuring standards, but I do not see the character there as being any sort of appeal/ pandering to people of a certain sexuality at all. It seems to be hinting at him being somewhat demented.

Also, there probably should be lots of gay characters in movies and television because there are lots of gay people in life, that is reality. I don't think writers should have to pretend otherwise just because your demographic finds it repulsive.

As for the Missouri bearded guy being a repressed gay fellow, I was born and raised in hillbilly Missouri, they have created a decent character by choosing that sexuality for him as a reflection on repression in general in small communities as well as the pressures of manhood in general in such an environment. (one could venture that this character is pandering to your demographic, people with hangups over what other people do in their sex lives to the point that they complain if something other than what turns them on is represented in someone else's art, that fellow's hangups over his sexuality and the way he acts out against them, fairly close to the same thing)

As for the show Ozark, it is okay so far, but without having seen the rest to see if it is addressed for me, I just keep thinking if the cartel is watching them so close then they know they are struggling and that the entire thing was a ploy and I have a hard time buying that they'd be wasting their time and money letting this guy fool around through all the trials and errors.

Fast forwarded all those parts mentioned. Made it easier to watch.

It's decent. I think the younger hick chick is the strongest character imo. Oldest daughter is just annoying, the kid's pretty cool. Bateman has his moments. The wife is decent enough. Writing for this show is above par, i'd give it a generous 7 for season 1. All in all it's okay for a time killer.

Yes, the Longmare girl is the best character, but I am enjoying Bateman's even keel. Morales as the drug kingpin is good and I think Laura Linney is doing a nice job as the wife.

I don't care for Bateman's two kids, the old basement guy or the FBI rube.

the flashback/backstory episode was really slow for me and didn't really have much benefit in the big picture...seemed like filler.

I've jumped off that cliff he stands on in episode 2.

Spent a lot of time at Table Rock in college.

Loved the finale. Great way to end the 1st season.

No word yet on a renewal but it seems like a slam dunk. The writers have plans for 5 total seasons so I would think Netflix would give them some room to explore their narratives.

This show has warts however it is still compelling television. I'm very interested to see what direction we head towards in season 2.

P.S.- Jordana Spiro is hot. Hope she comes back.

I thought she looked familiar as well. Went to imdb to look up her previous credits and realized she was the lead actress on the TBS show My Boys. She was hot back then too but I really think she has gotten better with age.
