Default Show off: NBA 50 Greatest of All Time + Dream Team Autograph Complete

Hello fellow collectors,

A few years ago I thought about starting to collect the Autographs of the 50 Greatest of All Time + the Dream Team....after lots of trades, purchases and sales, I can finally say that the collection is complete*!

My main objectives were all the cards:

1- to have On-card Autos
2- to feature only 1 player on the card
3- to be from Different sets
4- to be from Licensed products (NBA jersey)

*The cards that doesn't achieve the objectives listed before are:
Wilt Chamberlain + Pete Maravich: autographs are too rare and expensive, so I decided to add just a jersey card to the collection.
Dave Bing: it doesn't exist any card with an on-card autograph + NBA uniform, so I got a Leaf on-card AU.
Michael Jordan: One is a dual with T-Mac (my favourite card) and the other one is with UNC uniform.
Charles Barkley: He signed two cards when I had the pleasure to meet him in Barcelona.

Some highlights:

Here you can check them all:

Collection

Group pictures:

Dream Team

50 GOATs

I did a video talking about them but it is in Spanish:

I hope you like them, it was a great chase but now I can say...Mission Complete!!!

Thanks for looking

That is an amazing accomplishment, and something I'm sure you will cherish forever. Even if for some reason you needed to or decided to sell some or all of the cards at some point, you'll still always have fond memories of the chase experience and cool photos of the beautiful cards.

Congratulations, and thanks for sharing this great moment!

Great job completing this! I too am doing the 1992 Dream Team, all on card autos. Just waiting to find the right MJ and want a Bulls uni so I know it will be costly! Oh well, will share when I finish.

I love the display on the 50 greatest, well done and I like a lot of those cards!

Great collection and quite the accomplishment! I've been working on my 50 Greats PC for a few years now. I always get sidetracked with other small projects, or trying to snag some MJ 90s inserts before prices get higher than they already are!

Love the collection!

Congrats on the great accomplishment man!

I especially like that Bill Russell; the #6 inscription is so rare.

I'd be fearful about displaying autographs at the open though until there is a proven effective protective case that prevents ink from fading.

It has certainly been a really fun chase, I'm happy to see them all together. Now I will focus on some other things so I decided to sell some of them, will keep only the ones I really like. Thanks for your comment.

Good luck on finishing the Dream Team AUs, Bulls Jordan will be very costly but it will fit perfectly. Looking forward to see them.

Thanks man, yes it happened the same to me, I wanted to focus on some other PC items and sometimes I had to sell some of the AUs I had... Good luck on finishing the 50 greatest!

Thanks man, indeed, the Russell with the #6 inscription is super rare, it is such a nice set too, one of my favourite cards.

thanks for the heads up, I built the display to fit exactly all the 50 greatest cards, but after a few time displaying them I noticed a pair of cards that had faded a bit....so I decided to keep them stored in a box. As I completed the chase last week, I decided to put them all there to take a few pictures of all of them together. But now I only display cards without autographs. But thanks again for the advise!

Great, great stuff! Loved looking at these. I especially liked the Bill Sharman. I'm trying to put together one myself (link in sig). I'm down to Jordan, and I'm still waiting on the right one.

The great thing for me about collecting the 50 greatest, is that my collection is always evolving. Ive switched cards out at least 40 times, and will possibly switch 100 more times. Ive been at 49 for around a year, and my collection today looks a whole lot different than a year ago.

Please keep us posted on any updates you may make!

Super great accomplishment!

However how did Sir Charles sign this 1994 Star International in Barcelona?

wow, you have the Pistol Pete and Wilt autos...that's something I'll never have... I love your Magic Noble Nameplates too!

It happened the same to me, I changed/upgraded cards lots of times. Thanks for your comment!

Thanks! It was on 2014, a week before the start of the FIBA World Cup in Spain, one of the host cities was Barcelona, they did some events with players. I knew he was coming to one of the events, so I took the 2 base cards I had of him and waited like an hour at the parking lot...I saw a Mercedes van arrive and I went directly there...was super lucky! he signed this one too:

got a picture too:

Pretty cool....I'm 46/50... but you have to bend with the Wilt/Pete and go for cut autos or something like that......
*45* if you consider the shaq I have as a possible fake.....

I would argue the Hakeem and Barry are not on card.....
My fav card is the Drexler card...those UD cards are so nice looking...and the Magic J card since I am collecting that set
