You don't really have to answer, but damn, this stuff is getting insane.

Last report I saw (early this morning) was 1 BTC = ~$9700 USD.

I believe last year at this time was 1 BTC = ~$700 USD

No clue and I don't know what to do with what I have either.

I "accidentally" got into bitcoins since no online poker sites would take debit/credit cards anymore and their preferred method was Bitcoin.

Same here. I use it on Bovada for sports betting. Cash going in from card and cash coming out into bitcoin. I never touch it. Was happy when I checked my balance one day.

Helped alleviate my losses a little.

I was selling a little at a time until it got to $3k. Ever since then I've just been adding a little at a time and check back from time to time to see what it's worth.

But over the last week I've been checking every hour because it's been that crazy of a jump.

I have a decent amount right now. Been a big supporter sold all my coins when it peaked at 1200 a couple years ago and moved it all into the stock market and I'm kicking myself wishing I had just kept the coin... oh well.

Read an article today that some project bitcoin to hit 174,000 once big institutions get involved. Man it’s risky If you ask me....bubble waiting to pop. I do have some Ethereum and litecoin, but not huge amounts. This crypto currency is exciting, especially knowing the bubble is going to pop at some point...but whennnnnnn???? Tomorrow, 3 years from now? The block chain technology is really game changing and still in its infancy. So this bubble popping may be years away, but no one really knows.

I have really never paid attention to bitcoin. Although I’ve heard of it, I had no idea what it actually was until seeing this thread and then reading a little bit about it. I still don’t really get it. I guess I missed the boat on it. Seems risky and I think I’d be nervous investing anything into it.

The beauty of Bitcoin is that it is free of the corruption/manipulation that occurs within traditional banking today. Unless you operate with 100% liquidity, the fees of banking are so out of control that it should be criminal.

You are even getting charged 3% when you use PayPal!

This is what noone is talking about. Bitcoin itself may be a bubble, it could be the myspace and facebook hasn't been created yet.

Either way Blockchain technology is going to be revolutionary.

I sold manority of gold bars I had and bought into BTC when it was under a grand.
Have a pretty decent amount in hand.
Never thought it would reach these heights but during that time it has funded a family
Vacation - vechicle etc.
I plan to sell 25% of it once it reaches $10k and hold on to the rest.

Anyone was able to get in first. There was no IPO or selection process, it was an open source software that people choose to adopt. If you were an early adopter, you have been rewarded handsomely.
