Default Graded Card Scanning Guide - Take a Look!

I have been working on scanning my PSA cards over the last year or so. Over that time I have run a number of questions past some of you and requested feedback from some more of you. I decided to compile a guide showing some guidelines, tips, tricks and workflow I received from you and other sources.

I compare the Epson V600 and Canon 9000f, both of which I own. Ultimately, the guide uses the V600 for the main workflow.

Let me know your thoughts, revisions, etc. I am open to feedback. Thanks!

Edit 6/25/2021:
REV 04: Added Section 6 covering IrfanView – Batch Image Processing.

I revised the guide a bit, added a few more details and saved it as a High Quality PDF.

Check it out!

Thumbs up

Yes, this is the most helpful information I found while researching how to scan graded cards. Kudos to you @ngs428!

Here's an example of what I was able to create thanks to your guide:

Huge Thank You to OP ngs428 for sharing their scanning guide. I've been frustrated with the quality and inconsistency of cataloging my collection with my phone for years. I've been contemplating a nice scanner for awhile now and this incredibly useful guide was amazing and couldn't be happier with the new scanner results. This will help me catalog and share my collection with better consistency and quality.

Some initial examples from the first day...

Great results! Those Beckett slabs are tough with that inner sleeve.

I am glad you found the guide useful. Once you get the process down you can get great results quickly and easily. Thanks!

OP > thanks for taking the time to post the "user guide" you put together. That is great! Anybody have experience scanning multiple slabs on the same scan and using photoshop to automatically straighten and crop?

No problem! Hopefully someone can assist with your Photoshop question. I don't use Photoshop.

Thank you for the kind words, appreciate it. That particular image is a screenshot (of a Flikr album), but you can achieve similar results using photo editing software.
