Default 1993 Wild Card Box break--This bus finally out of the Garage

Hey Guys,

So I have been a lifetime Wild Card collector--I picked up 6 box of 1993 Wild Card "Central" so I would have a shot at some Steelers PC Inserts. Little did I know I would pull this monster

Jerome Bettis 1000 Stripe

to actually pull this made me about Pee

Not a high $$$ card but to me it is!

Still have three boxes to go!

Holy hell. That’s an incredible pull. Some ND fan out there will gobble that up.

Great Pull!

How rare are those 1000 stripes? Or Stripes in general.

Have never see info on that.

Well, in the case of 1993 Wild Card you get about 4 Stripe cards per box and would be lucky to get one 1,000 stripe in a case. Other sets (91,92) you would get between 4-6 Stripes. The problem is after they went under all cards in their warehouse went out to the public. So you really don't know the actual numbers out there.

Man oh man what a cool pull. That's one of those "Remember when?" pulls. I used to love chasing those, never did pull one. Only one 100, I think.

Yeah... not looking for Marino.... doing the set and the central stat smashers are a pain to find.... Ifd you have any stat smashers from 1993, lmk... needs about 30...

That as a pull is crazy.... the 1000 stripes are definitely scarcer than one per case... probably one in 10 cases... the 1993 is also much more limited because with Wild Card going under, they didnt trade out like they did past years

lol, right? I didnt want to sound cocky and was conservative with the one per case. And then to get a Bettis Rookie.

Now, that I think of it it was WLAF Wild Card where I would get one 1,000 stripe per case

I have no need for the Stat Smashers (other than Steelers) So I'll get back to you on them

Can you expand on what the central means?

I remember these but don't remember anything about them being called central.

Sure, would be happy too. In 1993 Wild Card opened up the printing presses and decided to break their set into Insert specific Hobby boxes and cases. So for example these "Central" boxes only have Inserts Like Stat-Smashers, field Force, Red Hot Rookies from Teams in the AFC and NFC Central So if you wanted a Brett Favre Field Force Insert you had to buy the Central boxes for a chance to get one. The Stripe cards were across all formats

Forgot they also made boxes that had a chance for all Insert and were not Specific like these and Jumbo Boxes with Super Chrome

For years I thought Wild Card was a throw away product. There actually are nice cards to be had

Awesome pull ! I use to open up nearly everything and mainly college based sets in the 90's. Those 1000 stripes were rare air to pull. I've started locating these unopened boxes as well and the irony of this post is I pulled a Bettis Classic Chrome of 9,750 a month ago and felt it was money well spent. I do have the Stat Smasher Bettis but that 1000 Wild Stripe, Congratulations on taking a risk. Somebody has to crack the box.
