Mitchell is starting to run away with it unfortunately, maybe someone can make a run in the 2nd half or the Lakers could wise up and start their best player...Kuzma. But it looks to be all Mitchell’s right now.

As of now, Mitchell. Gilbert Arenas 2.0.

Mitchell. And he showed us all why again tonight. Simmons is starting to fade while Mitchell is starting to rise up

Yeah, I'd like to know this, too. He did just win rookie of the month again (along with Mitchell).

Mitchell - with Gobert back they are taking names again. Gobert adds so much to the defense but Mitchell adds so much with his offensive firepower - they look like a playoff team and like they could be very dangerous in a series. [I'd bet GS doesn't want to match up with them]

Still Simmons, but Mitchell is close.

Everyone else.

Philly is a playoff team

Simmons. Underrated distributor and can drive to the basket at will.

I still have Simmons with a slight lead over Mitchell. But the race is close and could go either way. If Mitchell were drafted top 3 I think he may actually be in the lead with voters, but draft pedigree is a bias he will have to overcome.

I am surprised D. Mitch is ahead.

His game was nice vs PHO but Simmons has been picking it up again.

Simmons out in front for me but man I love both these guys games.

This brought a chuckle from me too.

Would like to see Simmons get to play the likes of PHO and LA 4 times each too.

Ben simmons is shooting 10 percent better from field. Getting 2.5 more rebounds. Getting 1.5 more assists. 3 less points playing 4.5 less minutes THAN........... Lebrons rookie year.
I bet simmons after break scores more points as well. This said Simmons is putting up one of the best seasons ever and per 36 better than lebrons. Forget Mitchell its simmons and its not close its an all time season. Mitchell is awesome but theres a guy or 2 ever year putting up what he puts up as a rookie.

And people say simmons is overrated. Crazy stuff.

I don't really care who wins the rookie of the year. A more important question is who will be a superstar 10 years from now. Giannis, Simmons, and KAT, in my opinion, will be the faces of the league.

It's good to hear from some of you guys. I've largely stayed out of this debate for the past 6 weeks, because I've thought it was pretty clearly Simmons. But that's simply not the case anymore.

Those of you who are saying "it's not even close" for either Mitchell or Simmons are not paying attention to what the other guy is doing.

After tonights games here are your accounting stats-

Simmons 16.8ppg 7.3APG 7.7RPG 18.42PER in 35.1MPG
Mitchell-- 19.7ppg 3.5APG 3.4RPG 17.79PER in 31.9MPG

Simmons eFG% before tonight was 1% higher than Mitchell's, but given Mitchell's efficiency in tonight's 40 point outburst, it will be less than that tomorrow - but I'm not going to calculate it.

No one who is paying attention cares about FG% anymore. points/possession matters. EFG% Matters. But for those of you who are use to it, let me break it down. Simmons is shooting <60% on free throws, and hasn't hit a 3FG the entire season. When you look at FG%, it may seem like he's light years ahead of Mitchell, he's not. They're very similar in terms of scoring efficiency - though Mitchell is scoring much more often and on a per minute basis.

Simmons does, however, turn the ball over 1.2 times a game MORE than Mitchell. Factor that in to your points per possession and suddenly Mitchell is scoring more points per possession than Simmons by a significant margin.

I see Simmons believers making two arguments at this point-

1. The Sixers are good and the Jazz suck. This statement has been true for the majority of the season. But - not shockingly - since Gobert has been back, the Jazz have been stellar. They've had the #6 net rating in the league since Gobert came back and have beaten the Raptors in Toronto and blown the Warriors out by 30 since then. With a healthy Gobert, the Jazz are good. This argument may not hold water for much longer. For those of you not paying attention, Gobert has missed over 2 months of play this season with knee injuries.

2. Mitchell doesn't do enough besides score. This argument is also trending in the wrong direction for Simmons fans. Mitchell's assists and rebounds keep ticking up as do his points. in his last 10 games Mitchell is averaging 24.6 points 3.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 34.8 MPG. Despite this, Mitchell is not going to come close to Simmons incredibly high assist and rebound numbers.

This is a close race boys and girls. Lets hope it stays that way till game 82.

Agreed, I can't see a long series.

Who could be a pain first up is Denver.

Stats make my brain hurt.

I like “X” more so he’s in front and it’s not even close.

It’s not even close = I have blinders on.

I have blinders on = 90% of the people on these boards.

I watched the 76ers game last night and didn't see much fading going on. Ben Simmons is really really good and has been picking up the pace, if anything.
