Top 15 Prospect Card Prices (Bowman Chrome Autos)

Thought it would be interesting to look at Bowman Chrome Base Gem sales of top 10 prospects as of 2/21/18 (according to MLB.com)

Obviously subs can play a part in pricing, but I am just looking at base gem pricing as a whole..

1. Ohtani - N/A

2. Acuna - $464

3. Guerrero - $455

4. Eloy - $280

5. Gleyber - $400

6. Robles - $175

7. Senzel - $185

8. Tatis - $200

9. Whitley - $104

10. Kopech - $85

11. Mejia - $76

12. Honeywell - $44

13. Buehler - $81

14. Bichette - $158

15. Rodgers - $124

Anyone see any big risers or fallers in this group for the 2018 season?

I track whitely prices pretty hard and lets just say before the news hits today those prices are higher than $80. maybe you're just incorporating suspension already.

I think that last sale of $170 was more of an aberration. With base autos going around $40 - $50, a generous 2x multiplier would put a normal value at around $100ish for a gem. And that will probably fall pretty quick.

I was going to say its more of a $100-$115 for whitley lol. Im predicting they will not dip lower than $75-$80 during the beef of his suspension. Hopefully within 2 months after suspension theyre back up to $100-$115

Buehler base gems should be higher based on his tough auto.

The top names alwasy take a bump in the next few weeks so expect Acuna, Gleyber, Eloy, Tatis and Senzel to get the normal ST bump with a bigger rise if they perform. Vlad is a ? because he is so young but he is a future #1 prospect so maybe him too.

The next tier of guys are younger for the most part so ST will have a smaller impact and the start of the minors will be more telling.

There are unnamed (in this thread) guys in the top 100 who will see a nice spike with good ST showings.

Agreed with Robles. I think him and Senzel both should have $200-240 Base gems

I also thought Eloy, Robles, and Rodgers would have been a bit higher now and actually throughout the past 6-8 months when you look what other players are commanding. It really has become "the top guys" and everybody else" nowadays with prospecting. (I sold a few of my small Robles stash because He seemed to be getting less hype and blending in more with the "everybody else" group for some reason.) That said, the top guys obviously are commanding more than ever, and there is more money in the other group also, across a rather large range of players. The hobby has definitely changed, but is still looking well right now, all things considered.

Silly as it may seem, I feel as though many people have stayed away from Robles in the early going due to his physical size. He is listed at 6' but is more than likely a solid 5'11 flat-footed, which isn't your prototypical power guy. However, I hope that if/when he reaches the 15-20 homer mark in time to come similar to Francisco Lindor, he will receive more hobby love. My only comparison to Lindor is because they are both smaller built guys that still project for considerable power. Regardless, I am still a Nationals fan and would be happy to take any extra Robles off someone's hands.

Of course ST is only beginning, things could change very quickly. There's a base 9.5 at $177 with two days left right now.
