Default Is this Jordy Nelson real or fake auto.

It looks like his auto compared to other 08 topps autos. Looks like his auto might have changed a bit in 09 and 10. Looking at all of his 08 autos on every product, too me it looks legit. What do you guys say.Attachment 30742

Of course it's real. If it wasn't why would Topps put it in one of their products? Well unless it's Ruth or Gehrig.

Personally, I've given up buying any of these until this year as there are plenty of fakes out there. I even got tricked into one, one time, but at least it wasn't an expensive rookie. There are ways to tell, but only in person really.

I can't say either way honestly, as I don't know his auto well enough, but there are plenty of fakes out there from previous years. Topps finally wised up and at least numbered them this year.

Hm, must have changed them. They number them nowadays. It looks good in my opinion. Clean, and Jordy-ish.

Be careful. Bought a Steve Slaton red from 08 and when I held it up to the light, you could see where the original auto was and where the faker "re-autoed" it in red. Once I saw it was fake, I decided to see how hard it is to take the auto off. Needless to say some rubbing alcohol and about 5 minutes later, I had (and have) an autograph card with no auto! An eBay 1/1... (just kidding, I would never put the card back out...)

So what color was the ink originally? It having red ink makes it worth more?

Yes the Red Inks are short printed to /10..The Blue Inks are just regular version. There are so many Red Ink fakes on ebay.

Yep it was blue. Someone took a blue ink version, rubbed off the auto and then retraced it in red. Thats why the numbering of the cards is such a big deal. If you number the cards then buyers would know that a red auto /199 is not real.

And speaking of red ink fakes, when Slaton was still relatively hot, there were at least 20 red inks on eBay at the same time. Since they were supposed to be /10 you had a better than average chance (and still do) of buying a fake.

I wouldn't even bother buying any of those rookie premier's unless there authenticated, got burned on those before.

What I was basically saying is that why would Topps put it in the product. I didn't know whether or not it was on eBay. I am aware of fakes on eBay.
