Default Newbie Questions

Hey guys,

I've only recently begun collecting cards and some of the cards today are not the standard issue I was used to when I was a kid, Decided to focus my collection on the Blue Jackets and a few goalies I really enjoy watching.

I've been buying cards from COMC and have yet to get one in my hand. What's the best way to store cards like what I've attached? What size holders do I need? Also, I prefer to put cards in small card albums. Would a card like this fit fine in normal card sleeves?

Thanks for your help.

Best way is personal preference as long as you don't damage the cards.

They all have different point values for thickness so it's tough to determine without looking up the subset for thickness of toploader that you'd need. Most Jersey/patch cards would probably be difficult to store in a 9-pocket binder page if that's what you mean by card sleeve.

I keep most of mine in penny-sleeve, toploader. Then store in a card "shoe-box". It's not glamorous or easy to admire what I have, but I'm most worried about not bending or damaging the cards.

if you're getting a shipment from comc, they'll put each card in its appropriate size toploader for like 25c per

This. I have my collection stored in an old university library card catalog cabinet, so whatever works!

Depending on how "valuable" you may want some of the magnetic holders. I tend to store mine in mag holders and then a team bag to seal it up.

Top loaders are the semi-rigid plastic holders. They come in a ton of sizes, so it just depends on the set. Same for the magnetic holders. Numerous sizes based on thickness.

Even the thin penny sleeves have a 130pt size for the thicker cards.
