There could be two different versions for Ohtani in this. Judge had two versions in 2017 CAl and I believe both were different photos from his first Flagship RC.

His card from the blister pack Topps Angels team set is the coolest one I’ve seen so far in the 2018 Topps Flagship design. If that image doesn’t end up being used in Series 2, then I think that team set card is going to have some definite sleeper potential.

IIRC, the initial price was around $950 everywhere, then for whatever reason (demand?) it shot up to around $1,150 for a bit, then went back down again right before release to the original-ish cost. Although a checklist is months away, they’ve added three/four additional parallels and added two new auto subsets, I can’t justify it at more than last year’s offering, no matter how fun it was. It screams of higher production numbers and Topps continues their pattern of suffocating a really good original release.

...and I just found it for slightly less than what I paid last year. So I justified it.

See you in three-ish weeks (hopefully with a checklist in about two weeks) with the results!

Thank You! Seconded x1,000,000. What's wrong with having JUST ONE product that has a nice high quality looking base card at a cost reasonable enough to bust boxes and put together a set? The rookies this year alone have enough brand value to hold a release like that. The "chase" would be 4-5 quality, good looking insert sets. Could a breakdown like this: insert #1 - two per box, insert #2 - one per box - insert #3 one in every 4 boxes, insert #4 one per case , insert #5 very rare one in several cases. They could even run their superfractor #@#@#@#@ here too if they wanted. Look back at the amazing, high quality, beautiful inserts we had the 90's. The Crusades, Mirror Golds, Skylines, Starring Roles, Cut Aboves, Precious Metals, Hitting Machines, Cramer's Choice, ect. there is no shortage of awesome inserts to choose from. Just one freaking product make these be the chase cards. I'd buy a case of a product like this in a heartbeat.

they may have nice mock-ups, but we all know after seeing this years releases, the Cardinals and Yankees will comprise of about 99% of the case break out.
