Time to finally recognize top 5 pitcher in the whole world, Jacob deGrom.
Guy gets no recognition, but he is easily one of the best and has been since 2014. 2018 STATS: 4-0 . 1.49 ERA 98 K 1.04 WHIP Has given up ONE run in last 6 starts. Has given up 1 run or less in 8 of his 10 starts this year. He does not need a nick name, he does not create any drama, he goes out, and dominates. Too bad his team is incapable of holding leads or scoring for him. Should have 8 wins by now. If my team is in the playoffs, I want this guy on the mound. Even when he does not have his best stuff, he still dominates lol. One of the few players I enjoy watching in baseball Last edited by prospects; 06-02-2018 at 08:30 PM. |

Agree about everything you said. He is a monster. Watching the game last night, the telling stat is that batters are something like 0 for the last 22 against him with runners in scoring position. That’s domination.

Either lock him up or trade him for a haul. You cannot hold him and let him become a free agent. He is a joy to watch

He gets plenty of recognition from the baseball world, but I assume you are talking about Hobby World, unfortunately he didn't get to the big leagues until he was 26, by the time he starts to start putting together some good career numbers, he will be done. Most pitchers of his caliber already have 3-5 years of MLB service under their belt. For him to get to the next level he NEEDS to be the best pitcher in baseball for a 3-5 year run, being in the discussion for top 5 won't do it because he is going to be retired in 7 years.

As a Mets fan, I can't wait to see the disappointing trade return we eventually get for him :P

He's incredible right now. 1 earned run and 47 strikeouts in his last 33 innings.

7 innings today of 1 run ball. Did not have his best stuff, battled some serious jams, and dealt with rain delay.
guy is amazing. |

and once again, the mets blow his win.
think thats the 3rd or 4th win they have blown this season when he starts. they do not score, and the bullpen is atrocious. easily the worst franchise in mlb. disgrace. DeGrom has allowed two runs in his last 40 1/3 innings. He has two wins and five no-decisions to show for it. Last edited by prospects; 05-28-2018 at 03:24 PM. |

One stat that hasn’t been mentioned...
DeGrom has retired something like 28 hitters in row with runners in scoring position. Basically a whole ball game. Had a few situations today with a runner on 3rd and no outs and didn’t give up the run. Good thing baseball is played in the summer because he would not be buying his bullpen any X-Mas gifts. |

Their Manager SUCKS. Lugo already blew the lead the previous inning and this schmuck lets him hit the next inning in the middle of a rally and w/Familia available and warming up. Every other Manager in MLB would have pinch hit with 1 on and 1 out. But he leaves Lugo in of course he walks the lead off guy hitting .213, still don’t bring in closer and let’s Charlie freaking Culberson go bridge on a 1-2 pitch? Simply pathetic not to use your closer in a big game like that.

I know I'm asking a biased crowd ... but at 30 years old, what do you guys think the potential is for DeGrom Heritage autos (2014)?
