Default Roberto Osuna traded to Houston for Ken Giles and more

Osuna just lost a season to domestic violence and will end up going to the playoffs.................................

I didn't realize those domestic guys are playoff eligible.

A big risk for Houston IMO. Just as a pitcher alone.

Solid deal for the Astros. Even if he’s a wife beater.

Just PEDs keep you out of the playoffs. Beating your wife/gf is ok when it comes to playoffs.

Not really the type of return I would have guessed the Jays were looking for, but I suppose several teams may not have wanted to associate themselves with Osuna

Paulino AND Perez.

The Jays have officially committed grand theft. I'm calling the authorities.

Paulino is nothing special, he will end up a reliever.

Osuna gets traded to a contender as a direct result of his domestic abuse suspension. What a great lesson! Now I have to watch two terrible human beings close out games this postseason in Osuna and Chapman.

I live near Houston. We have the worst braggadacio local media around. We stopped watching any local stations for news and all the “we’re so awesome” smear over everything. Anyways, my point is Osuna’s history will be nicely glossed over. Or being Texans, they don’t care as long as they win.

FWIW, Astros tweeted this that is worth reading- https://twitter.com/astros/status/1024058734669115392

Still a bad look for the MLB to have lighter punishments for abuse than PEDs when it comes to playing in the playoffs

MLB is taking a lesson from the NFL here. Cheating is worse than beating. Both laughable and sad at the same time.

“Zero-Tolerance Policy”.......I don’t quite think he knows what zero-tolerance means.

Anyone have any insight on who the Jays got in return?
How are these guys?

Well, Ken Giles is the one who imploded last year, continued into this year, and once punched himself in the face. Houston Gm should get a statue for ridding of him.

Giles lost his slider. If he finds it again then he’ll return to form.

What if the beating comes because of someone cheating? Postseason ban or no ban?

Would've expected a bigger return for Osuna.

I think Giles this season in save opportunities was perfect. In non save opportunities, he was horrific. Seems like a nut case. As mentioned, punched himself in the face when he had a bad outing. Also allegedly (looks like he did) told Hinch to F off when he struggled and got pulled.

Not sure about the other 2. Apparently Jays think Perez can be a starter. Has control issues. Big arm.

Paulino was once a top prospect. Didn't have great numbers in limited games in the MLB. He was suspended last season for p.e.d.
