Default Blowout Actually Raises Prices During Sales?

So I have been tracking a few products on Blowout since April, mostly football cases I was looking forward to buying one day and cracking... so the price is actually currently the highest since April for their "Labor Day" sale. While not up a lot over their regular sale price, they are higher on Labor Day than they are on regular sale!!! Anyone else notice this? It appears their competitors do the same ridiculous thing. Glad I kept track, now I know the deals aren't deals!

This business tactic has been used since the stone ages. Part of game.

Also prices change due to the overall market, hot rookies, time of year, etc. April is the offseason, Labor Day weekend people are ready for football.

Whenever target does those buy 3, get a $5 gift card on items they raise their price too. In my picture they raised the price by .50 so in reality you're paying $1.50 more then the normal price to get a gift card which really only is a free $3.50 after all things considered.

But they have that Fantasy Flush Spot promotion on certain products, isn't that easily a $10 value?

What's funny is I actually had two boxes of Vertex football in my cart at $167 each, this weekend, I was thinking 6 hits, that's not bad for $167, that's a better value than a typical 3 hit per box product that runs $100-$150, but then I snapped out of it

Blowout is awesome, but great box deals have been lacking here for awhile now.
However, their Black Friday always rocks, and I should be saving money for that anyway.

I've been around for many of said Black Friday deals. I've come away with a different impression the last few years.

Not sure what you mean.
Example of my purchases a few years ago:
2014 Prizm $30/box current: $115/box
2013 Prizm $20/box current $60/box (this one sucks even for $20)
2015 Certified $50/box current $95/box
Last year not quite as good maybe, but still pretty nice....imo

2014 Prizm is a bad example. Due to the Carr and then Jimmy craze.

I just didn't think the deals were great. You can compare then to now if you want but compare today's prices with the prices this November and then get back to me.

Not sure what it is but I feel like wax the last couple of months has skyrocketed in price. It might be just me but that's just how I feel about the current wax prices.

I'm an OG. No social media. Just love card collecting, and forum is great for keeping up with trends, etc. I suppose for me this may be a substitute for Snapface.

This is a great example. Loved (and bought) a lot of this product way before Jimmy G hype.

I remember seeing where a lady sued Burger King—and won—because they raised the prices on bogo for sausage biscuits.

Agree the deals have been lacking recently. Especially last years Black Friday versus say... 3 years ago.

But that all has to do with the availability of products... A few years ago was the Golden Age of crappy yet decent now Panini products that didn't sell because they were crappy... like:
13-14 Titanium Basketball
14 Select Football

Neither of those products sold, because they were grossly overpriced, overproduced and had a lot of sticker Autos in them. So Blowout got most of the stock, and fire-sold most of them.

Products like that don't exist as much anymore. Maybe Chronicles Basketball from this year will be one of those products? Not sure, but we may be upon the precipice of another Golden-Age type of product dump soon. People seem to be tired of the over priced sticker garbo. Just keep track of the products that completely cannot be moved at their release point and you'll know what you have to look forward to.
