I recently bought a small early 90s collection and it has been a blast going through. Tons of sealed junk wax, monster boxes full of Fleer, Upper Deck, Score, Donruss... I have Jeter RCs coming out of my ears! It may me think what product would I love to open if I had no financial stake whatsoever... 2009 Bowman Draft would be great but there are so few fun cards to actually go through, and without the payoff of keeping the Trout, would it be that fun? Im stil thinking, but Id like to hear anybody's thoughts.

I would track down an old case of Topps Sterling and chase a Ruth. They really should bring that set back.

1993 upper deck fun pack. The retail that had the special heat activated cards in them that were redemptions in hobby

Loved Fun Packs. Both sets were awesome. A great Piazza in the 1st year and and cool Jordan baseball RC in the followup.
Donruss Baseball from 2001 were cool configuration. Each pack had another sealed pack within the pack. Those inner one-card packs contained Donruss "Lost Cards" from 1999 (hobby) and 2000 (retail) since those sets weren't made at the time, being the years between the end of the original Donruss line and the relaunch of it from what is now Panini (if I'm not mistaken). I bought some of those retail packs at Target way back when, but they were a lot of fun to open and I wish I'd bought more.

1991 Upper Deck for sure. Chasing the Jordan SP was one of the most memorable times of my life.

I want to open up a box of 1987 Topps for all the rookie cards. I think it would be a cheap thrill, but I’m sure I would be extremely unhappy with all the off-centered cards I’d get (since I really dislike off-centered cards).

I see a lot of people wanting to open things like 2011 topps update or similar for the Trout cards. To me, that isn't necessarily fun, but maybe an investment or what i wish i had opened more.
For me, if i were purely in it for fun, and money wasn't an issue, i would want to open some vintage cards for the nostalgia (maybe 1975 topps), or perhaps some 2005ish Donruss product (pre-Panini). Better yet, some late 90's wax with cool insert sets, or some early finest wax for the refractors.

Did 1951 Bowman even come in cases?
If so, that.

I’m gonna keep this in the realm of realism since there’s not a chance I could afford a case of 1952 Topps (if they even made cases). That said, I’d love a case of 1987 Fleer.
