Default SIX (6) - 2018 Topps Holiday Box (Walmart)

So I went to the local Walmart to see if they had anything new and they had Six (6) of the 2018 Holiday Boxes on the shelf. I was going to pick up 2 of them but decided that I will probably never see them again and bought them all.

Relics:

Xander Bogaerts (x2)
Craig Kimbrel
Corey Seager
Javier Baez

In the second to last box I got the only Auto of the six boxes that I opened.....see below.

Trying to decide what to do with it...

1/1 Shohei Ohtani Gold Snowflake Auto

So...help me out here...what should I do? Grade it? Sell it? It's the only decent hit I've had all year!

Grading typically doesnt add value on 1/1 cards. Listing with high BIN and field offers on Ebay if you arent in a hurry to sell

Yeah I would sell it raw. A Topps update sold for $1700+ a couple of weeks ago and a Topps Gold Label did about the same a week earlier, so you should be able to get something similar. Good luck!

Wow, that was unexpected when I opened this post! Congrats. I'd go for $5k. No need to grade. Good luck!

If it was me Id keep it. Its a pretty sweet looking card. I'm kind of a fan of keeping big hits lately. I bet you will always look at that card and remember the excitement of pulling it out of a pack. My take is if you ever saw that card on ebay, a card shop, or card show you would be like man that's a cool card and move on after seeing the price. What I would do is sell all the garbage out of the rest of boxes and see if you can keep it for free. Put it all up as a big fat lot and see where it goes. Just my 2 cents making the keep it argument.

I nearly shat myself when I saw it was an Ohtani auto...then if flipped it over and saw 1/1 and let out a scream. My wife and kids came running into my office to see me standing there, mouth agape holding a baseball card in my trembling hands and trying to get it into a sleeve without dropping it! It was a pretty cool moment indeed.

I really do want to keep it...but reality is getting in the way again. I recently got laid off from my job of 20 years...severance is done and bills need to be paid. So, I need the cash.

Wow congrats, awesome moment. And yes, take a picture of yourself holding it so you'll always have the memory and then put it on the Bay with a high BIN. Good luck.

Congrats! The odds of an auto in these is astronomical, then you pull Ohtani, and it’s 1/1! Incredible. I’m with many before me, it’s a small, niche release and will never be worth more. Sell it and buy yourself and everyone else in the family something nice!
