Default Walmart 50 pack bundle for $20

Wondering if anyone else saw this. Walmart has a 50 pack baseball card bundle for $20. That’s like 40 cents per pack! Really cant beat that! Years of cards included are years 1981-2018. Has anyone had any luck with these? Even if there isn’t much value it could just be a really fun and cheap rip.

Haven't seen the 50 pack ones yet, but you are going to get a lot of 1989 Score and 1990 Fleer if you buy one.

Never seen a 50 pack. Most I have seen is about 8 packs and 50 lose cards for $20.

If I saw a 50 pack for $20, I would be in for a couple of them. Even if it is all mass produced junk to me it would still be worth the try. Who knows, maybe those 1990 Topps will yield a Thomas NNOF!

I’ll have to keep an eye out for these, thanks for the heads up.

At $20 even if it’s 47 packs of junk it would still be a fun rip.

it might be worth it, but my guess is 30 of them are likely the Leaf Babe Ruth packs or Triple play.

Yeah, I would like to see at least one opened first.

There's going to be some Honus Bonus packs in there too I'm thinking.

I'd like to see one opened too, but if they have them at my Wal Mart later tonight, I'll be the guinea pig. I'm a sucker.

$20 is worth one rip to check it out. Someone please post results if they do one of these. Hope for a handful of 2017 or 2018 Topps among all the loser packs.

Let's see the packs before deciding if $20 is even worth the value. You'd need 80 packs at .25 cents a piece to break even so i'm guessing you won't find many chrome hobby packs, if any, which is why they can sell 4-7 of those packs for $20 in most cases.

Guessing this is it?

I'm very happy with the 50 packs I received.
Average rating:5out of5stars, based on0reviews
I'm very happy with the cards I received. I received a total of 352 cards in the 50 packs for my $19.97 with the vast majority being new cards. The 5 packs of Topps Archives were the highlight for me. I pulled some great cards including a Bryce Harper. The 2006 Topps and 1991 Ultra Fleer were new to me and were fun to rip. The below details exactly what packs I received and the card totals for each. There was some junk wax in this group but not much. The fun and variety make me say this was a good deal for me. 352 – Total Cards 1988 Donruss (2 Packs – 30 cards) 1989 Donruss (4 Packs – 60) 1990 Donruss (2 Packs – 32) 1991 Ultra Fleer (1 Pack - 14) 2006 Topps Series 2 Rack Pack (1 Pack - 18 + 3 Vintage – 1 – 87 Topps, 1 – 86 Topps, 1 – 81 Topps) 2015 Topps Series 1 (5 Packs – 25) 2015 Topps Series Update (5 Packs – 25) 2015 – Topps Archives (5 Packs – 20) 2016 Topps Series 2 (5 Packs – 25) 2017 Topps Series 1 (5 Packs – 25) 2017 Topps Series 2 (5 Packs – 25) 2017 Topps Update (5 Packs – 25) 2018 Topps Series 1 (5 Packs – 25)

Mostly dollar store packs!
Average rating:2out of5stars, based on0reviews
32 of the 50 packs were dollar store packs. These types of packs only contain base cards. At least it only included one junk wax era pack.

OK, so there are a bunch of current packs, but it's all the dollar store stuff that has nothing but base. Hard pass in that case for me.

The 2 star review seems to imply 17 of the packs aren't junk wax or dollar store. If that's the case it doesn't sound too bad. I wouldn't expect any 2011 update but with the right years, there's potential to pull some decent RCs. If 17 are regular retail packs there should be inserts and a chance for parallels too.

Even with dollar store packs being only base you could get RCs of Judge, Acuna, Soto etc. It might be worth trying one for ourselves just to see. I will be going out tonight to get some moving supplies, I will swing by Walmart to see if they have any. After all I need to buy my $20 box for my flip project for February anyways.

Meh, I went in for two. I’ve wasted far more on useless retail 100 times over.

Repacks are fun. But the more cards from the 2010s that are found inside, the less fun they are. Give me late 90s shiny Pacific craziness, please.

Maybe if it has 2013 packs inside you might hit a Machado RC. It's worth 2 whole dollars. Good luck!

good move!! i went in for two as well. i mean 100 packs for $40? Im not mad. It will be a fun $40 spent regardless of the outcome. What really drew my attention was that these come directly from Walmart, not from a 3rd party vendor on the walmart website. Who knows, these might be misc. packs left over in their DC from over the years. Shoot, there might even be a 2011 topps update pack in the mix! Ya never know!

Fun fact: In roughy 2005 Walmart had tacky-looking "50-packs" boxes where they were green with a HUGE 50 on the front as the box design. They were loaded with junk but I remember finding a really botched print job on a 1990 Topps Julio Franco All-Star card in one of the packs where it was missing its background. I chucked it in a commons box and off it went to the shop with everything else in several boxes when I moved.

You can figure out why it matters below ... and what else literally could have been in other boxes had I slummed it a little more.

Wow, for 30 years I have never seen this image. That's awesome!

And sad for those that should have purchased more of those 50 pack boxes back in the day! ha

It's basically the path of whatever it was that dissolved the black plate's stuff that would transfer the ink to paper. Since the background of the All-Star cards were printed with ONLY black ink, it was a really weird card. I chalked it up to a botched print job and saw this visual probably five years later.

I once pulled a Piazza Allen Ginter Auto out of repack. You never know.

Sometimes they use hobby packs.

Just went to two different Walmart’s and they had none. This may be an online only thing.
