Default Are you nervously holding your Trouts?

Talking to some collectors, seems like they are nervously holding on to their Trout cards waiting to see if he goes to the east coast or stay in Anaheim.

Seems like if he stays in Anaheim, they will sell since chances of playoff success is dim with the Halos. This would be when his cards drop in value.

If he goes to the east coast, they hold hoping for multiple playoff appearances = increased value of cards.

I'm an Angels fan, so I'm holding onto my Trout's and hope he remains a Halo for the rest of his career.

What angle you guys playing with your Trout cards?

Trout cards have gotten to the current level without his postseason participation.

If he makes it, and does well, they could increase. However, i don't see it playing a big factor if he does not.

This is weird. There is one player and one player only that people shouldn't worry about holding and that's Mike Trout. He is building the best all time great resume since Albert Pujols. West Coast, East Coast, Ivory Coast, Coast Guard it doesn't matter.

I am not holding ... because I don't have any lol
If he comes to Yankees, I might add some, but the price at that time might be way out of my reach

Nope. I'm a collector. Not an investor.
Happy to have a Trout collection and will continue to hold.

I’d like to see him stay a Halo for his entire career, and I’m not even an Angels fan. I just think it would be best for baseball and baseball cards.

I don't think Trouts value is tied into anything other than the historic start to his career. Baseball fans and collectors don't get caught up in rings. Plenty of huge talents never won a championship. I am just waiting to see what Harper signs for so hopefully the Halos can get the ball rolling on an extension. If Trout leaves, it won't be because of $$$, it won't be because of the Angels' W-L record, it will simply be because he wants to go back to the east coast.

I’m wondering how long the Angels wait to try to lock him up forever or trade him. You cannot get his value back but u can wipe out an entire system and start all over. They’re not in an easy division because I cannot see the Stros just stopping anytime soon and they probably won’t sniff a WC spot.

Same. Very minimal collection here but holding unless something serious necessitates selling. I'm appreciative of his talent and hope to make it to Cincy or Cleveland when the Angels visit.

The Astros are eventually going to have to pony up some big cash to keep that team together. If I am not mistaken only Altuve is locked up long term.

There's always hope for expansion which would necessitate divisional realignments.

I just meant until Trout’s contract is up. I think it’s 2 more years right?

I like his long term value better if he is an Angel for life, regardless of the postseason..

Yup, 2021. Eppler has done an excellent job with the draft and they have begun to be more active internationally. I'd have to think that Eppler has had some serious conversations with Trout in regards to the long term direction of the franchise. As a result, the next 2 years aren't what he should be concerned with, it's 2021-2030.

This!

If people are nervous about holding on to trouts, I wonder how those Lindor investors are feeling?

The fact that your eBay link doesn't go to an account bugs me.

I just think it’s risky, you let him go to free agency and if you don’t get him you’re done and get nothing for him. Again, you can trade for another trout but you can have any prospects you want him you can’t sign him long term. I’m Not an Angels fan so I have no dog in the fight

Easy hold.
A once-in-a-generation player.
Will not matter which team(s) in the end.

Only nervous about they Angels Trout Jersey I bought a few months ago.
Had not bought a jersey since '94, so kind of a big step...

I don't think it will come to that. If they can't lock him up by this winter, that means he's set on moving on. If that is the case, they will probably look into moving him at that point.

Be cool if they can get him for 10 years. I’m interested to see what him and Adell could do together
