An Absolute NIGHTMARE Case of Heritage....I hope my Box Topper can help! :(

UPDATE:

Even though it took a month, Topps came through and sent me my 88 missing SP's from my case. Obviously it stinks that they were missing in the first place, but I am very happy they helped me out considering some of the horror stories I've heard. The 8 SP's that I got from the purple hot box are now doubles, so I need 12 for my master set. If anyone has any for trade or sale, please let me know.

I need:
443, 474, 475, 476, 477, 478, 479, 480, 481, 482, 483, 484


My doubles are: 404, 407, 410, 424, 436, 448, 458, 465, 487




I will start by saying it wasn't all a nightmare. There were some decent cards mixed in, but I didn't get any major hits.

Box 1 started out great....kind of. I hit:

Juan Soto Action Variation
Clubhouse Collection Dual Relic of Carl Yastrzemski and Mookie Betts #/70


So, why was this case a nightmare???

Because I didn't get ANY Short Prints!! It was dead box after dead box....


I take that back....I did get some in my hot box. So, I got 8 in the entire case. That is brutal when SP's are the bigger names this year and the Master Set accounts for a huge chunk of money back on the case.




Now I can only hope that one of my Box Toppers can come to my rescue...




I will post the full results later today when I can add the scans. It really took the fun out of busting the case. I understand that the hits were still there, but 2 boxes literally had a plain relic and NOTHING ELSE. Actions aren't guaranteed per box, neither are chromes. I look forward to Heritage every year and this just sort of ruined it for me.

Sorry to hear this. Same thing happened to a good friend of mine back in 2014 or 2015 - only SPs in his case came in the purple hot box. Every other box had nada. Every case I've broken since I breathe a small sigh of relief when I get my first SP in box 1.

Not sure if you can save the wrappers and call Topps - but it's worth the shot. The SPs are half the reason to rip a case...

A second case at my LCS is confirmed to be missing SP’s. 2 dead cases...ugh.

This coming from the guy who still has to unload his truck haul and get it into the basement (from the three season room) before I get into a lot of trouble!

For some reason during the packout process, the SPs failed to get loaded in any box but the purple hot boxes (which are run through a different process). This has been happening for years, it's extremely rare but it happens...

2 years ago 2017 heritage

2 of my cases had no action swaps blues etc...

Nothing totally empty

I had to open them because I pre sold sets

My cases had the sps.

So I sent all my box codes and packs to topps

It was a huge box. Cost was 20 ish

Month later I got a letter saying we only replace missing hits

Not inserts .. then they gave me the on average speech

Was a joke

So good luck. That is terrible

Because the money is in the 1-500 set

Are you saying you didn’t get any of the SPs like action, color, French etc, or did you not even get high number SPs like 401-500?

If you didn’t even get the high number ones that is a huge let down. It will make it very hard for anyone to put together the whole set 1-500.

I only put together the 1-500 for each year and don’t bother with the other SPs.

Thanks...it is quite a gut punch when SP's are so important.

I only put together the 1-500 for each year and don’t bother with the other SPs.

I got the action variations, color swap (only 1), and 2 French, and other parallels. I only got 8 regular SP's (#401-500) in the whole case. They were only in my purple hot box. Another case at my LCS had the same issue and I saw another member had the issue as well.

I thought that box topper was the ultimate irony after opening my case. I always save the box toppers for last and that was the last pack I opened in the entire case....

That topper of the customer service team, some of whom look understandably less than thrilled with their previously anonymous mugs now becoming associated with collector disappointment, for who would want one of those, is so ridiculous it defies belief.

Not quite so. Maybe this is true for the established collectors of a particular release but stuff ups like this, and the lack of after-purchase-care, means that those who might be thinking of buying Heritage, or any other product they have yet to try/purchase, may end up passing all together.
