NT Mayfield “Swoosh” RPA 1/2 AND 2/2 in consecutive cases....

This is the first year I’ve been in NT breaks and I absolutely HATE how the players come in waves and I hear it’s common for the product.

Anyway, what I witnessed yesterday was the epitome of this.

This breaker had not pulled any Baker mayfield rpa in about 20 cases...

(I was in this break and hit the Browns on the 4th random out of 6. This is the only time I’ve done an NT break without having my Buffalo Bills but I took a shot because a lot of the best teams were in play for the filler. I was also one spot under the Cards who hit a Rosen /10 rpa in the same case. I was also 2 from the top and browns were 2 from the bottom so if the list was flipped upside down I’d have it. Okay I’m just trying to be funny here but in all honesty it is never easy to be in a break like this and not get the card! I would have paid off all my credit cards and not have to worry about rent for some time..... oh and is also buy the josh Allen rpa I’ve been chasing)

Anyway I had gone to sleep after that but come to find out the next morning this happens in the VERY NEXT CASE!!

I was not a winner in these breaks obviously but I think this was worthy of being posted here.


Side note- Really felt bad for the guy Mr. JETZ. He hit browns in the previous TWO cases and nearly hit them in this case as well as he had the most spots. I’ve had some sickening moments in breaking, but never coming that close to a $25-$30k card. I really think that would have turned me off to the hobby permanently cause at that point nothing would seem fulfilling to me lol.

That is incredible. On a side note the potential for the FOTL /3 Nike swoosh cards seem to be less impressive based on the exact same card coming out of the Hobby Boxes. Still great card but more of them out there

I was thinking the same thing. at first i thought these were fotl. but yea, there will be at least 3 of these nike swooshes, maybe 4 because I am still not sure what the "3rd" version of the FOTL Logo patch is...seen swooshes, laundry tags but nothing really else so it must be a combo of one of the first two.

Yeah it was crazy man. Personally I only go there on rare occasion. Breaking there more often past few weeks because he rips the most NT FB and I hadn’t given up on chasing a Josh Allen rpa until recently when the Allen wave had finally died and the Bills pyt price shot up to $300 from $250 after opening at $200. F all that. Anyway decided to go in on my first couple fillers there yesterday and yeah... that was something else

Can you not buy any teams and just join the filler and hit the Browns if lucky?

I saw those earlier today, crazy lucky odds to pull those back to back. Were you watching a few days back when someone hit the Goff 1/1 Shield RPA and a Baker RPA in consecutive breaks? Absolutely insane odds.

Yes. But the filler is made up of the teams that haven’t been bought from that case, plus the Browns. So you’re getting some team out of it.

For the short amount I time I used to get i breaks I tried them out and just the excessive screaming over "pulls" was enough for me to leave.... well and the fact their prices are astronomically high. I just couldn't take it anymore.

And what's up with the Plat-bashing? Just turn your volume down a notch and go back to posting about how Panini sucks because you missed out on FOTL. I've dealt with these guys for years and never had a bad experience. They fill 100s of cases of premium product every release, working pretty much around the clock to give the highest volume of opportunity for people to join breaks. If your team is priced to high, go buy into your favorite breaker's 2 cases, then come back and jump in case 136.

My thing is trying to figure out how and why Panini sends NT cases out the way they do. Most breakers I’ve seen have been hitting the same players in waves, sometimes the same cards.

You can’t tell me that it’s a coincidence when I see:

Mason Rudolph true RPA in 4 straight cases (but rarely hitting before this)
Josh Allen autos in 10 straight cases (but rarely hitting before this)
Josh Allen NT Colossal laundry tag auto in 2 straight cases
Saquon Barkley hitting left and right when NT first came out (and then practically disappeared for the longest time)
Saquon Barkley hitting in like 6 of first 8 cases at Brocks box breaks
And then... baker swoosh in 2 consecutive cases

And it is certainly not just the top players; it’s everyone. For example I’d see the Bledsoe bills auto hitting left and right during the same 20 case stretch along with other recurring players (gesicki, Allen, etc). There’s many examples

It’s just annoying to me as a collector spending so much on this product when the same players are just coming out in waves. I was literally trying to get on a josh Allen wave and that’s not the way it should be

Wasn’t watching so haven’t seen the cards but I’m fairly sure neither of those are “the” 1/1 from the product for those players. Honors is stuffed with 1/1 cards.

Wow what a start. Totally jealous about the Allen. I’ve pulled a lot of Allen autos this year but I think /15 was the lowest. Would be a dream pull for me. I bet the Bills were a filler team too huh?

Seems like NT was the newest FB release wayyyy too long and I’ve never had worse luck with a product this year (and I know many collectors are with me there) so I am extremely happy that Honors is finally here!! And like Panini One, I find it to be a lot more fun to watch and participate in than NT.

I only saw the first case at plat breaks but man was it loaded... and yet from what you are saying it got even better after that haha

I believe the only 2018 rookie autos in Honors are the Score & Classics update versions. I love the Classics design especially the optichrome parallels so panini did a great job with the NFL uniform update for these rookies IMO and the rookie autos are so much better looking than 2016 Honors.

Also cool how Nick Mullens and Phillip Lindsay have been included but disappointed that my boy Robert Foster was neglected yet again and has ZERO rookie autos in a Bills uniform this season (despite the fact he was a beast and led all rookie receivers in yards for the second half of the season.. and he also had a college rookie auto in the original Classics & score products. Go figure!)

I suppose the counter argument was if Panini didn’t do this once and a while would you buy team _____ after _____ was pulled in the previous case?

No, not if I knew the cases were mixed up/randomized. Because if that were the case it would be just as likely to see 2 straight darnold autos as a darnold and then a Barkley etc. But when you see cases with the same players AND cards coming out in streaks it is pretty obvious what is happening.

Team breaks are a huge part of the hobby now. If this were happening with another product it would be more acceptable but collectors spend more money on NT breaks than any other product that has come out this year. Imagine someone not knowing that like me, excited for the release of NT so you buy into a bunch of early bills breaks only to find out that the product was front loaded with Saquon and Baker autos and guys like Allen didn’t become “common” until the second or third wave of cases when I was SOL cause I went in big early (like so many collectors do). I just think it’s reasonable to expect more random results in the biggest release of the year instead of knowing that some teams are going to have much better odds than others. It seems like this happened with NT more than any other product and I don’t know why.
