Default Big pickup for me: 1993-94 Topps Finest Man Swallowed Whole By Alligator Refractor

Nostalgia is a hell of a drug.

tldr-friendly gist...

-collected from '93 to '99, stopped, came back to the hobby in 2014.
-bought a handful of Jordans at around $150-200, essentially my upper limit in terms of what I was (and still am) comfortable with spending on a single card.
-saw Jordan prices get retarded, stopped being retarded by buying them.
-pivoted back to my favorite childhood player, Penny (can see my rolling pickup thread here - https://www.blowoutforums.com/showthread.php?t=1181298)
-took one last stab at something I've wanted forever, won it.

Really pleased with the coloring on this.

Also, here are the Penny cards I'm after - https://www.blowoutforums.com/showthread.php?t=1268051
Please sell to me, he is a horrific investment. K thx.

One of the best basketball cards ever made.

Yep. I went that far.

First basketball refractor ever.

Thanks for editing my opinion, I really appreciate it when it comes to something as subjective as sports cards that remind a lot of us, including myself, of our childhood.

I showed it to a friend that's never had any connection to the card world. His takeaway can be seen in the thread title.

Ah damn, yea I was willing to overpay a bit. It's felt like a giant hole in my collection as far back as I can remember.

man that's purty. Even if $$ were no object that's easily a top 10 must have for any legit MJ collection (which sadly excludes my collection haha). Glad you finally snagged it!
