Default Which Basketball Hobby Box Should I Buy?

I've been trying to research on which basketball hobby box to buy but no look so far. What I would like is to buy a hobby box that gives good cards, not just some weird rookies cards that almost no one knows about. For example, Panini Hoops Basketball looks good. Doesn't cost that much and guarantees two autos. The problem with it is the players and the autographs not on card.

What I would like from you is to give me some suggestions on which one to buy which one have you have the best luck in getting good cards. I have a couple of hundredths to spend on some basketball box that I've been saving for this specifically.

I want a box that guarantees a few autos that isn't trash. I know I won't make my money back. I know that but I just want to have good cards on my PC. I appreciate any suggestions!

Depends on if the autos being guaranteed are your demand per box or not. If you want to gamble a little I'd say Revolution would be a good option (especially 17/18 and 18/19). The cards look really nice (a bit trippy too if you like that) and any autos you do get are on-card. They're 1:2 boxes for the newest year now.

If you want more of a guarantee per box I'd say either pick Court Kings or Vanguard if you're willing to spend a little more. Court Kings usually 3/4 of time has 1 on card auto with another auto, its mostly RC's but there are some legends in the Legacies set.

17/18 Vanguard was an insane price when it came out but at its current price not so bad with 4 on-card autos per box (though a lot of boxes have a redemption in it).

Vanguard is decent - 4 on card autos and 2 base cards/parallels. The checklist is pretty solid too.

If you have $500, I would suggest you grab one box of 17-18 Dominion, one box of 17-18 vanguard, and one or two boxes of 17-18 revolution.

Revolution 2018-19.1 auto per 2 boxes.
Save up for an inner, and you have 50% chance to hit a galactic as well.

I mean there are so many options, but in terms of ROI and autos, might take a look at getting 3x Prizm retail boxes (1 auto per), plus it gives you a good shot at top name RC Silver autos.

Most boxes in the range of 100-299 range will most likely be gambles. They usually guarantee 1-2 autos. If you have the money to buy immaculate/dominion/flawless/national treasures then the chances of getting a crappy player card is less but it's still possible.

If you want good players to add to your PC then as previous members mentioned, just stick to singles. Otherwise, chances are, no matter what box you ultimately get, it will be a gamble.

Singles all day!

If you feeling the itch, just grab a few blaster from Target or Walmart. Chronicles and Optic are pretty nice

Surprised nobody has said Prizm.

$240 and probably the best ROI out there. Any rookie #d can sell well, and if its a gradeable card it can go for crazy $$$. Its not about the autos in this product, but you will hit them (sticker). But there is a lot of things you can hit from autos to color to silver prizms, etc...

I only got a about 200 to spend. I want the feeling of opening a pack and finding out what I got instead of buying it single. I do know is more risky and you can spend more. I just want to do it for once.

how about this year's chronicles ? loads of rookie contents, pretty decent chance at numbered of big rookies, on card autos.

and the rest on singles on players you like

best of both worlds

I made up my mind. I will buy the one mentioned the most in this topic. Thank you everyone for your suggestions and advice. I'll keep them in mid for the future since this is only a one time thing that I've been wanting to do.

I guess I had a similar question. If price is no object, which box gets you the most bang for your buck? Obviously they are all gambles, but for best value (or return on investment) which box would you guys recommend?

Retail prices for all products nowadays pretty much reflect a consistent yield on a large volume of product opened. Your best bet is to find a product priced cheaper relative to the major retailers and busting that.

For what you described, i would go with a box of this years Optic Hobby 2018-19. The boxes were juiced this year compared to the 2 previous years. It's like Prizm's baby brother in terms of collectability. Can't guarantee you'll pull a monster but the same can be said about any product. Price is around $140 box.
