Default The Kyle Tucker Thread

Saw he hit his 1st HR tonight since his callup. This guy had a 30/30+ season in the minors this year and hoping he can keep it up! Recent articles said he is going to have to earn his ABs but 2-6, R, 2 RBI helps.

Houston is STACKED. He had an unbelievable run in the minors. A 30/30 season in AAA shows his potential.

What is his flagship rookie?

I can't decide if I want him to keep his prospect eligibility so he can make a run at ROY next year or exhaust it so I don't have to bother ranking him. I'm thinking he's going to come in at #5 on my list if eligible.

Guy is a monster. Never thought he got a fair chance during his brief call up last year with being in and out of the lineup a lot and never really having a chance to settle in. Hopefully he plays a lot down the stretch so we can really see what he can do.

Hope he finally finds a home in a crowded star power lineup. Seems like he has a chance to be a really good ball player.

That's the only issue, Houston is so loaded. But still he's talented enough to break through that lineup.

Kind of surprised me when he wasn't traded earlier this year. I was expecting it.

during the trade deadline period a lot of teams asked about him. the Astros front office made it clear that he and Forrest Whitley were untouchable. I'm pretty sure the Astros sent virtually every other notable prospect they had to Arizona in the Greinke deal haha.

I think you'll see Tucker as the everyday right fielder next season. Jake Marisnick is only under contract for this season. I think he'll end up leaving in the offseason, and then the outfield will consist of Brantley, Springer and Tucker left to right with Reddick becoming the 4th/utility guy and Yordan getting a few spot starts, especially in interleague games.

Ideally we'd just see a trade of Reddick in the offseason. He's on the last year of his deal and Tucker is a more than capable replacement.

Love his aggressiveness. He’s not even really barreled anything yet. Once he starts gaining more confidence, this kid could do a lot of damage. Looks really calm at the plate. Maybe Minor League League POY with his 30/30?

Great game. Too bad he was overshadowed by Yordan and Cole.

Tucker's BA has trended up last four games from .222, .231, .286, and today .316

I have been waiting for him to come up strong. I think he's getting into his stride this time around. I think he's got Yelich and Bellinger type potential.

If you had never watched baseball before and you see his swing, you'd think he was the best hitter in baseball. Of course I also thought the same about Ben Grieve so it definitely doesn't guarantee anything.

Yeah he’s got that great swing. Good ole Ted.
