Is this because it may make the card look better or is this just a step further of the revolting between collector and third party graders?

More of the latter for me, but it could go either way really. I do feel that nowadays lots of collectors have become a bit obsessed with what a grading flip says over actually enjoying their cards. I don’t really have anything against grading, and people’s reasoning for grading doesn’t have to be solely about the grade of course. I just felt some of my PC cards would look better cracked out and put into a one touch or binder. Stuff like Prizm and the like is already a 9 or 9.5 (in other words mint) straight out of the pack. Why muddy up the look with several layers of plastic for a card that’s already in near perfect condition?

I saw showly2003’s post and realized we’ve been doing the same thing. The hashtag is just to call it something.

Hate slabs and have done this myself with a few Ersan cards. Yes, someone actually graded some Ersan cards for whatever reason.

You know i love this! I don't have many recent pictures of cracking. But maybe i'll start documenting it with the #tag from now on.

This 100%. And i'll go further. I like to admire my cards raw outside any case as well. There's something tactile about it that i really enjoy.

Lol. Yeah I’ve bought and cracked a couple of guys I never though would ever be graded as well. Lots of my Nuggets guys from the 90’s mainly.

I agree man. It’s how the cards were meant to be seen. I actually do the same.

Love it! For me it’s all about enjoying the card. I’ve busted out a lot of cards that I don’t plan on selling. I realize the grade adds value but that value is related to the sales value. For cards in my PC I’ve decided that I prefer the card raw.

Additionally, I’m also very turned off by the grading process. I haven’t submitted a card in over two years and I won’t be any time soon. Will I still buy graded cards? Sure, if I like the card and I do my own evaluation of the value of the card. I’ve never bought a card and paid for the grade. I’ve actually gotten a few steals on vintage cards that were in very good shape but slabbed with a low grade.

You can follow myself and the OP on IG to follow our no slab movement! When I have time I’ll even post a step-by-step tutorial of how I free my cards from those slabs.

Crack a graded slab and put it immediately...in another slab. Brilliant.

I’m assuming these are all PC. Otherwise you just burnt up a lot of value.

Surely, but let’s say OP wants to sell or trade his cards that’s still part of the hobby right?

The Murray?

No one give a damn about value anymore.
It's like every time I show my fat face on the basketball section I get pissed off. These new guys and their value talks just grinds my gears.

Another slab that he can easily remove the cover of at any time. You don't have to go to the garage/toolbox to open a one touch. You're making them sound a lot more similar than they really are.
