Arrow ALERT: REA Selling Egregiously Recolored PSA 7 '48 Leaf DiMaggio in REA PSA Sub

EDIT: See Post #11. Card was in a SGC 86 slab that was sold via Mile High in between being in a PSA 6 and a PSA 7 slab.

The following Dimaggio was sold as an unaltered PSA 6 by REA on 4/30/2016 and was later altered, submitted by REA to PSA, sold by REA again as an altered PSA 7 on 10/28/2018. The card is now for sale again in REA's current auction in the same PSA 7 slab. The card has been recolored in several areas and although not noted in the composite below, a few of the corners also appear to be smoothed out. Finally, REA does not disclose that they submitted the DiMaggio, however the card five PSA cert numbers away is noted as being submitted to PSA by REA.

Unaltered sale: https://bid.robertedwardauctions.com...e?itemid=39863

There are also several trimmed Moser 48 Leaf cards for sale from REA. All of those I could prove with photos are below.

Luck mostly. That should tell you something.

I saw a clean card worth a couple thousand in a new PSA slab. 5 minutes of looking on VCP and bingo.

I wish it were funny that you can locate a random card worth thousands of dollars and determine that its been trimmed after only several minutes.

REA is off the hook on DiMaggio, however now Mile High and SGC are now on the hook. In between being a PSA 6 and a PSA 7 it has a short-lived time in a SGC 86 slab.

The UL and LR corners on the 48 Leaf DiMaggio also improved between submissions and some of the snow in the green background mysteriously vanished.

And to add, the DiMaggio has been withdrawn. No word on circulated Moser cards.

Maybe someone at REA found their lost black light. I can only imagine what the Dimaggio looks like under a UV source.

COMC, I really want to thank you for posting these type of threads. Quite frankly, it is the only possible way for common hobbyists to get some semblance of justice with this fraud. The only way to slow down this fraud is to keep questioning as many high-grade cards as possible that hit the market. Every innocent owner of a tainted card needs to be informed as well as protecting future victims.

Wouldn't it be nice if they announced out loud, "These are the consignors we're no longer taking submissions or cards with provenance from....."

They would only do that if customers were of paramount importance.

Im still trying to figure out why these auction houses dont appear to be reporting these cases to the local authorities.

Perhaps they are but it's not getting the attention it deserves?

They have all of the submitter information. I would imagine it wouldnt be hard to track them down. Obviously a few auction houses are in on this (PWCC) ,but there has to be a few that obviously arent as well.

I’ve dealt with REA in the past and they are pretty stand up folks. There’s a lot of slimy people in our hobby but in my experience REA is not one of them.

Not sure what your point is. Let’s just tarnish everyone’s reputation in the world since anyone can potentially be scum.
