Default Is global authentic’s still unreliable?

I’ve been reading through posts about global authentics and haven’t heard too many great things. The majority are 2015 or older though and a few newer threads mentioned they were better now? Are they reliable for autographs within the last 2-3 years or should they still be avoided?

Also, for those experienced with everything on eBay... If I can get the item at an ideal price point, am I able to return the item through eBay if I send it to bgs/psa and they dispute the authenticity of the item?

Avoid Global like the plague.

You could probably send a brand new baseball with Babe Ruth on it to GAI and they would pass it.

GAI is the leading fake Khalil Mack COA's on Ebay. Not one of them is genuine!

They are no more legit now, then they were the last time you saw a thread on them.

Id buy an item with no COA VS one with a GAI cert.

The only reason why people seem to send anything in to Global, is to get some sort of sticker on the fake item they are selling. Still plenty of collectors out there see any sort of COA and assume all is fine.

For the above reason, a lot of scammers also use ACE Authentic too.

I cant recall seeing a legit item from either of them.

And to answer your other question about returns, if you get a fast enough turnaround from PSA, JSA or BAS, yes, you can return your item as "Not as described".

Hell, its ebay, you can just say you changed your mind most of the time!

the old GAI holders for unopened packs were excellent, but I wouldn't trust the new ones.

These are the only certs ebay will recognize

List of approved authentication companies

James Spence Authentication

PSA/DNA

Beckett Authentication

I would trust SGC as well, but they do not see a lot of action outside of packs and card grading.

Pre-certified autograph companies:

Fanatics Authentic

Mounted Memories

Steiner Sports

Tristar Productions

Upper Deck

Appreciate the feedback everyone! Guess I’ll keep looking, price seemed to good to be true. Probably not worth the trouble if global authentics is as bad as everyone said. Thanks again

Is the scam company in all these threads, that is known for passing tons of fake autos off as legit, somehow legit in other things they do in regards to the hobby?

I have no idea what happened to this company. I would agree with the rest that I'd avoid all the new label GAI holders. If you see any of the older labels, these are can be great deals. The company was legit back then. I've had great success with these older graded cards.

Yep.....the old labels for unopened product are reliable.

They still are the only company to have ever authenticated rack packs, for example.

Anything with the new labels stay away from.

Can someone please confirm, but I thought the older/more legit labels were the one's with the white rounded background? And the silver was newer label GAI??

I’m pretty sure the silver labels are from when they were located in California and reputable. Once they went to Global Authority name is when it went to hell. Definitely get a second opinion other than mine though

The silver is the older label when the company was still considered legit. Here's a better look at the Clemens before I crossed it over to PSA 10 (circa 2004-05).

Here's a recent sale of a Brady SPA rookie. Final hammer price was $28,988.00, which is less than the going rate for a PSA 9. I think who ever won it got a great deal. The 1st Graded designation would also indicate that this was the first 9.5 recorded for this specific card by the company. Pretty much a marketing gimmick, but it does help date the card back to around the '03-'05 timeframe when it was slabbed. Brady cards were just taking off during this period, but this was still mostly regional popularity so less risk of trimming.

You've got it backwards.

The silver label is the original GAI label, from back when they were considered just as reliable as PSA.

The white rounded background labels are the newer ones....not to be trusted.

Ok, and I'm talking about the white label with the black rounded border on the sides, I believe they started using that just after the silver label, but still at the California location no? Was wondering if those are known to be solid cards since I have one starting with a #104 serial? The white label once they moved to Iowa, "Global Authority" is not the one I meant obviously that's a no no.
