Default Jarred Kelenic

No thread yet for this guy. Surprised he is a fraction of the price of JRod. Obviously doesn’t help his draft auto is in Mets uni. I think he will end up being the best all around player currently in the minors. Believe he is up before the season is over. Excited to get some Topps parallels! The sooner the better.

His 1st chrome auto (raw) goes for $130 - love that folks are considering that "under the radar".

Yeah it took a nice jump I was buying for around $40 early part of last year. Kellenic was selling around $100.

His teammate is selling over $300 for a raw base.

Kelenic has been my go-to guy since the M's traded for him. MUCH needed thread! I have about 10x this picture now, but this was quite the accomplishment the past year. Glad I was able to complete the rainbow minus the 1/1.

I was buying them last year for $20 when he was under the surface of the earth.

Really???? Was Kelenic's Draft Auto ever that low? I didn't think it ever went below $50.

I bought one at 40 last year that’s probably the lowest I saw

Wander Franco will be the all around best. Even in a Rays uni.

We will see. Or he will be Ozzie Albies which is still pretty dang good. But not worthy of Wander pricing.

Some off centered Kelenics were going for low 40’s for a very short period of time at auction. Were usually $55-$65 after comedown from opening prices. Refractors settled at about $110-$120

Kelenic might be a better investment due to current pricing. I just think Franco will be a better player. Who knows what his cards will go for.

No chance it was all the way down to $20. I had Kelenic in the 50 case break last year so monitored prices closely. Lowest was in 40s as the person above already mentioned.

I don't think there's any doubt that Wander Franco and probably Adley Rutschman are better "all around" players right now considering both offense and defense.

However, I watched Kelenic a couple times in Little Rock and he stuck out like a sore thumb compared to those other guys he was playing against and with (even on a team with Kyle Lewis and Evan White) The ball just sounded different coming off his bat. He literally looked like a man amongst boys in AA. I got that same impression watching Eloy in AA. I don't own a single card of Kelenic but I have no doubt he will be a great player.

I wouldnt pay over $75 for Chrome Auto of Kelenic. His splits are scary, like most lefties, he has to somehow get used to hitting lefties and they wont let him do that at the MLB level and if they do he will get Benintendied by the hobby. He really fattens up his stat lines against righties. Unless he figures it out next year he will be in AA for all of 2020 and possibly longer. Rodriguez, like all righties get to grow up facing almost exclusively right handed pitching, so the transition is easy. His splits are much more consistent, his K to BB ratio is a little scary at 3 to 1 but he was 18 in A ball. All that being said, people puzzled by these auto prices need to look at the prices of most of the checklist, almost all of them can be bought for less than 1 stinking pack, Kelenic can be had for less than half the cost of a box and Rodriguez the cost of one box. Its actually pretty fair. Factor in the potentially breath taking returns, its a good value.

Vs Lefties he hit .333 @AA .269 @HiA .240 @LowA
Overall .261/.337/.422

I'd say he does pretty well vs LHP.

Not bad at all! :-) I have a few stacks of his non auto base and chrome. Lots of folks in the area have seen him hitting/training locally and claim he is just nutty good. very hard worker, I really believe he will be a major leaguer for the next 15 years. He's got that mindset and ability that are not always found together...

Has some good vids on YouTube about his training and when he was traded to Seattle. His goal is to be up before his 21st birthday which I think will be tough without signing one of those team friendly contracts. Don’t think he will do that though would likely cost him too much money.

After Luis Robert, this kid is one of the few in line to flirt with 30/30. He's a solid buy for sure.

AA was a whole 12 at bats, those statistics are irrelevant

Not sure how .240 and .269 are numbers for an elite prospect, certainly not $100+ base auto prospect. If he is having problems with lefties down there, he is going to be having fits with the higher levels. Any lefty pitcher that has any advanced approach moves quickly through the system. Most of the lefties down there are projects.

Its not really an indictment of Kelenic, its just the realities of growing playing baseball as a left handed hitter, go to eBay, you have to go to page 5 of highest sold autos for the first left handed hitter who wasn't in 2019 Bowman Draft. Thats a Bryce harper Blue Auto. They face almost exclusively right handed pitching their whole developmental years.

Last year I picked up a few BGS 9's, regular, /499 and one of the throwing variation.
7 total.
Snagged a BGS 9.5 Sparkle non auto as well.

The guy I really liked was Evan White. Great lefty on defense at 1st base.
I obtained his Baby Blue spring training game used jersey last year as well.

Lost of Mariners prospects to come up in the next 2 years.

I got his 2019 Bowman retail paper autograph from the last single pack in the card section of the worst Walmart in the city, so I'm hoping he does well.
