Still have PLENTY of Acuna. I’m not sure if there is such a thing as “too much”, but it definitely felt like I was getting close.

The deal is done! Finally able to share the big news! Now I need to put my head between my knees and breathe into a paper bag for awhile. Opportunities like this are few and far between, and I couldn't be more excited about this one. Thanks for looking!

Yowza! I'm assuming subgrades on the back? If so, that's an early graded one. Nice!

Yes, this was only the third 9.5 graded by BGS back in '06. I also asked 312 to vet the card for me prior to purchasing just to make sure it's squeaky clean.

Congrats on the awesome pickup Hoping to land one soon to complete my Lebron trinity.

JJeezus!!

Knew it! Congrats on landing it! Absolutely Iconic card.

For those of you who do not purchase outside of baseball, this BGS 8 Lebron sold for just under $200k recently:

Would assume way more if an 8 just sold for right under $200K.

The last 9 with a subpar patch sold for $228k last month. I don’t know what Court paid, but I would think a 9.5 in an old slab with good provenance is $350k plus.

Probably an 8 or 8.5 for surface. Wouldn't be shocked to see it in a 9 overall.

I had one with a blob of blue ink that pulled a 9 as well. It's not impossible for it to come back a 9, but I'd be banking on an 8. It would just be gravy if anything higher.

I knew they were expensive, but didn't realize they were at the numbers being mentioned. I wish I liked the guy, then I might have one of these. Now I just have to tolerate him since he's a Laker. Nice grade and card. I'm guessing two things, you aren't going to try a cross over and two you probably got a good deal for what it's worth seeing how you are an agent and all. If you can afford $300k+ cards you can't be a bad one. Also, I'm curious what did the wife get out of this. You got this nice card, she had to of gotten something nice too.

Thanks!

Funny that you mention crossing. I gave this some thought, and actually came to the conclusion that there's a definite benefit to NOT crossing or bumping it.

This card is probably the poster child of high end cards when it comes to "possibly altered". For that reason, I think the old cert and provenance (and the fact that 312 vetted the card prior to purchase) actually makes the card much more desirable as it sits. The provenance is iron-clad. For me, this card hits the trifecta of great grade + great patch + great provenance...and IMO can't do much better than that.

100% agreed. Congrats on acquiring what I would call the holy grail of modern cards. I bet that would be the first card to break $1 mil price tag out of all the modern cards. Whether you like Lebron or not, that is a historical piece. If Jordan had an Exquisite RPA /99 BGS 9.5 that card would be $1-1.5 mil easy.

Get that scrub LBJ out of Ronnies thread...

Wow what a beaut! Just an absolute monster. That and the Brady Champtionship Contenders ticket are the iconic cards of the 2000's.
